My question to you all is; Who do you all think will be the biggest pleasant surprise of this upcoming season? Reasoning is good, oddball calls are encouraged.
My vote is for no one other than our man Robin Sugar Ray Lehner. The guy knows he's gotta come into camp in shape this year. I haven't heard he injured himself in the offseason thank god, so hopefully he's working. I think he wants to play and really does have some talent for the position. He'll play over 50 games this year and have a save percentage north of .920. His play as he gets back into the groove after the Allstar break will be the cornerstone of our push to make the playoffs. (Side bet that he does actually get someone to fight him this year) - RhinoFan
It will be Vesey him a jack Will just be like a Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf combination .. And the scary part is you're going to have Sam with them that line is going to be unstoppable IMO .. |

Bogosian. I don't think he'll be amazing but I think he'll be solid enough to make people forget how disappointed they were in his play.
Backup pick: Ennis, if he is still here in October |

McCabe will take two steps forward this year and become our top lefty by the end of the year.
If given the chance I see Nelson stepping in and being our version of Ghostisbere, or at least chipping in on the power play more than anyone we now have.
Left field call: Disco Dan gets us into the playoffs and is Coach of the Year candidate.

Franson actually makes perfect sense. They save 4 mil this year and add a RD they need, and save 7.8 the year after when Franson is gone |

Great post.
I'd like to see both Ennis and Girgensons to do well to shut the haters up. if Ennis returns to his 20 goal form. he's definitely going to help the team.
Also would like to see Moulson just be a veteran leader. He doesnt have to score 20, but he needs to find his "special purpose." We're paying him too much to be Jacks landlord.
I think most of our top 6 is just going to keep doing what they're doing.
I dont want Lehner to fight anyone. Dont get injured!!!
D should just play D.

Don't include me with you. I am relaxed. And I am patient.
Vesey is not signing with Buffalo. And that is fine.
Maybe another lottery pick. And I am fine with that.
Rebuild properly. Slowly, patiently.

I like Lehner as well, he played well in the limited time we saw him last year. I think he stays for the most part injury free and has a very solid year. I will say he will be in the top half of most goalie stats this upcoming year. As long as Nilsson isn't playing much we will be in good shape. And yeah he will get in a fight this year, hopefully with a Laffs goalie, and K.O. him.
Runner Up: Matt Moulson, I say this with quite a bit of hesitancy, but he can not be worse than last year. I think he comes into the year in better shape and with more focus. If he can get back to being the player that is able to post up in front of the net he should be able to get some greasy goals. If Ennis also comes back to form, which I think he will, I think the two could make part of a dangerous 3rd line. Plus, I think Moulson will get more pp time and will also benefit from that. |

Low trade value but if he comes back playing the way he can, high potential.
No one in the organization or the fans should turn their nose up at an additional 20 goals on the season.
He's definitely a question mark. |

I still think Ennis has potential to be a top 6 talent. He has had one bad year, and most of that was because of injury. I have a pretty good feeling he will be a strong player this upcoming season. I'm thinking he has 21 goals and 23 assists. |
