I think fans were giving him a lot of slack because of his talent/potential/superstar status even if he commited too much mistakes leading to goals against. |

All offensive defensemen are risky. You have to live with that.
But one thing Subban never seemed to understand, and what probably irked management, is learning to play the clock.
EDIT: That, and always wearing his own brand stuff after practices and games |

Didn't always play smart as well...
Agreed it might be because he was often the only good player on the ice and tried to do everything on his own... |

he seemed more prone to unforced errors/bonehead plays last year yeah, still led the team in scoring and on many nights was one of the few guys who actually showed up to play. i prefer errors like he made last year to watching a guy like Plekanec just call it quits mid season. |

maybe but that's not what got him traded. i think it was 100% all off ice stuff. whatever his flaws on the ice, they could live with. and contrary to popular belief i don't think it was a case of picking Therrien over Subban. i think Therrien is actually on very thin ice. |

I dunno by "most", but pretty sure the ones that mattered.
Fact is, he wasn't worth 9m, 6ish and he'd still be a hab, imo |

Still, trading Subban because of his character and signing Radulov is like poopting on Strombo because of his suits and still sucking on Cherry's old, smelly cock. |

i think that's an oversimplification. Subban was the team's highest profile, highest paid player and biggest personality who had tons of influence. assuming he won't be out having foursomes with fred the night before games, i imagine he'll want to be quite low profile. |

was it worse than the time Gionta sobbed in Therrien's arms? |

Honestly I still think the biggest problem Montreal has is coach and GM. Reactionary moves here, albeit some good ones to address issues, really this is the GM doing what he should have done before in shoring up holes on the team. I mean it doesn't take a genius to figure out to have a legit backup for Price! Good moves BUT have to see how it plays itself out but thinking they really need to start getting the upper part of the house in order and getting an actual plan on the form and shape of the team they want. |
