Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Four More Depth Free Agents Signed, Weber & Friesen Gone After making a splash on Day 1 of free agency by signing Loui Eriksson, the Vancouver Canucks added four depth players to their roster later in the day, most likely strengthening their AHL roster. Meanwhile, Yannick Weber and Alex Friesen move on to new organizations.

As it sits right now aside from Gud & JV for muscle/grit, this team will be getting manhandled by CAL & EDM. The Oilers are a very big/physical team now, Cal the same. It's going to be a tough go with the roster as it stands today.

Nice to stock pile the organization a bit.

But I liked what TO did last year (which makes me just saying that)

They signed a punch of UFAs cheap and on 1 uear deals only to parlay them into draft picks through trades later on.

I honestly really hope Benning finds a way to bring Kane home. 24 years old and needs a wake up call for sure but he put up around 250 shots AND hits last year. He just needs to mature a but more but 2 years is perfect sample size to see if he can turn things around. He would look really good on the second line and would defintely bring some size and skill in our top 6. Get it done Benning. If it doesn't work out its only 2 years and we can go a different route.

We can also expose him to waivers and lose him. One would think Sbisa alone(maybe a very small plus) gets it done.

What about Tree? and according to the Sedins, Sbisa is mean hitting SOB. Etem could play a grinding game.

That would be the selling tool for the team going into the off season. He's trouble, then he's still a young guy. Put him in the right environment and you never know. Like it's been thrown around, start wit Sbisa +. It would help against Lucic & Kassian for sure.
