A lot of forwards on the team right now...where/how do they all fit?

Top line forwards...

Dany Hank Eriksson

Middle six forwards...

Sutter, Horvat, Baertschi, Virtanen, Hansen, Etem, Rodin...

Bottom line forwards...

Gaunce, Dorsett, Granlund, Burrows

Defence...

Edler Tanev
Hutton Gudbranson
Sbisa Tryamkin
Larsen

———————————————————————————————

Unless they're really well coached, which we know they're not, mediocre at best, that's not a very sexy lineup for next season. Even if our young guys progress, which every teams young players should do, I only see maybe a 15 point improvement from their 71 points last year.

Another top five pick, which is perfectly fine when Benning is drafting so well. Slowly but surely he's gonna draft a winner in Vancouver.

Along with a decent hockey trade, I agree with this.

15 more points last year made us a playoff team. We missed by 12

Sure if the other teams they're chasing don't improve, which I think Minnesota did, then they'll have a shot. Keep in mind, Calgary, Colorado, Winnipeg & Arizona were all closer to Minny than Vancouver was, and they all improved too...Canucks are in tough to make it.

Also interested to see the progress in some of the prospects further down the list. Brisbois is on a better junior team next year. Also want to see what Neill, Shukenov and some of he outer Quebec league players. Finally, can Cassels make progress in his second AHL season? Some on here last summer had him as a potential fourth liner on the Canucks for last year. Had bad AHL year coming off injury.

Need to see. I think Calgary did well , Winnipeg got Laine , the rest of them Meh. I think LA went backwards and the Ducks too. SJ just had a long playoff and have some old bodies, let's see how that plays out.

We got rid of Weber, Hamhuis Bartowski Higgins Prust and Vey .

his performance last season is easily replaced... and a different player will be an improvement

I hope Hutton improves his shot, he's been working on it.

and Tryamkin works on his cardio and overall fitness and becomes a regular.

Just my opinion but even if the California teams slide back, they're not sliding down 20 points, they're still out of reach for teams like the Canucks.

To me it's still Minnesota, Colorado, Calgary, Arizona, Winnipeg & Vancouver fighting for the final Wild Card spot. I'm not sure Vancouver is better than any of those teams except Arizona. Guess we'll see how it plays out.

After what I saw last year, I really like the potential of this kid! I hope he trains hard this summer. He was not in NHL shape when he got to Vancouver last year, but he quickly got there once he arrived.

Exactly . I think as you said a healthy team and natural progression of the young players will put us a few points closer. The rest depends on our upgrades and removals.

I think the Ducks best player right now is Kesler. I think we can handle that. The league is getting closer to parity.

after that summer where Kesler said he practiced his shot there was a big improvement, and a couple seasons later I thought he needed to work on it again.

lots of training to do for these players to improve and sustain. I know they get paid well but it takes commitment, time and effort.

For those saying trade Hansen , think again. He is a great player . He is fast , he averages 17 goals, he is great on the PK , he is a very good two way player with very good speed. He has a great cap hit and is great in the room. You don't just give away players like that for second round picks.

id take 2 hansens for one evander Kane. Don't get the love for him at all. hes had one above good season in his career and is an absolute douch

Thinking out loud. It will get ripped but something along these lines to discuss. I know it is out there.

To BUF : JV Hansen Tanev

To Van : Foligno Kane Franson.

19 year old JV will probably turn into a Foligno ( ready now) type player

Kane a 20 goal douche for Hansen a 20 goal Boy Scout . Both 2 years left

Tanev very reliable little scoring RHD . Fransen , less reliable tougher bigger point shot. Fransen would need to be extended first.

So we get utter raped by Buffalo? Tanev has infinitely more value than Franson, Hansen and Kane have fairly equal value now(hansen may have slightly more due to risk factor with Kane) and Virtanen has more Value than Foligno. This is not just me overvaluing our players. This is a known fact. If this tarde happened Buffalo takes Sbisa off our hands and adds a 1st/2nd in 2017.

Vantel….can you go troll Tanner for awhile, he needs a serious attitude adjustment. I'm giving him the gears that Benning is far great than pencil neck Chayka.

So is that a yes

I know Tanev is a lot better and a different type player than Fransen. I know we lose on that part.

Kane and Hansen wash.

The question about JV is where does he fit?

RH Loui Rodin Boeser Dorsett Hansen

LH Danny Sven Etem ? If you are only going to use him as bottom 6 ?
