So is that a yes

I know Tanev is a lot better and a different type player than Fransen. I know we lose on that part.

Kane and Hansen wash.

The question about JV is where does he fit?

RH Loui Rodin Boeser Dorsett Hansen

LH Danny Sven Etem ? If you are only going to use him as bottom 6 ?

- VANTEL

So we should get Shat on ina trade just because a player doesnt fit in? JV fits in much more than Foligno ever will. Franson is a useless plug and can stay in Buffalo. Even fans in Buffalo want him gone. And you want to trade Tanev for him? Franson has no use on this team. Kane is the only piece we need coming back, and are giving away 3 more valuable pieces to get him. One of Etem/Rodin will be gone this time next season.

Dank-Hank-Loui
Kane-Sutter-Rodin/Baer
Baer/Rodin-Boho-Etem/JV(may start in Utica, but long term this is where JV belongs)

Rodin and Etem are both stop gaps until Boeser/JV are fully ready. I highly doubt they are in the long term plans unless they start producing 20g or 50 pts each.

they are getting their chance this season to make an impression, if we are going to write them off already, why not waive and replace them and get on with it.
.
both are 3rd liners, what are reasonable expectations? I expect more from Etem, guys do well in Europe all the time and fail to do much in the NHL when they get their chance. but I'd love to be proven wrong with Rodin

In all seriousness I don't want to trade Hansen. I want to keep Tanev , I do want to move Edler when Juolevi is ready.

I do think JV has a lot to prove but Benning wouldn't trade his first pick here.

JV played unreal defenaively last year in a bottom 6 role. Look at his analytics. The kid is pretty amazing defensively and just needs a top 6 role or first line duties in Utica to flourish. I'd say he is untouchable after looking at the stats closer.

I have no idea about Larsen or Rodin. Need to see them play.

Edler has us handcuffed. Hansen, you need to listen to offers if he's as overvalued as everyone thinks, no?

Agreed. The kid is just scratching the surface, for gawd sakes! he exceeded my expectations last year - not only that he showed flashes of brilliance along the way. I feel JV and Horvat are the untouchables on this team.

Nice try Vantel I see Jv spending time in Utica to hone his game on the top6 there with pp time to learn to become the power forward we all think he can be. Your right to won't get the minutes up here so let him grow more into that top 6 role dow there.

I think Hansen is a very good player. He was one of our best last year. If it is an upgrade trade sure you take it but I doubt you ever get full value for him.

I would like to see a Hartnell Sutter Hansen second line

You could probably get Kane for Sbisa and a minor part .

And yesterday I said I agreed with Whatthenuck and Retinalz that we should take that gamble for a 2nd line scorer who might be able to straighten out his life when living in his home town.

The thing is that back in the day we had the west coast express with the Sedins learning their craft, right now we don't have that 2nd line behind the Sedins yet which we need to hone their scoring, Bo, Baer, just aren't there yet and in today's world I don't think we give them as much leeway as we did when Crow was the coach and the Sedins got to become the better scorers.

I've been saying this for a while. The guy is simply TOO good to trade at this moment in time, unless the return is substantial (never say never, of course). For all the people clamoring to have him moved, what precisely do you see as a return? (because it certainly wouldn't be about 2nd round draft picks, that's for certain).

You are always looking to improve your team, but how do you fill all of what Hansen brings? He is the ultimate utility player, great team guy, and with a fairly decent cap hit. And based on last year, he is only improving (late bloomer?)

100 %

I know WD , Miller and the Twins all had issues with the lack of vets on the team. I don't see Hansen traded until his last year at TDL. Then Boeser will step in at third line and hopefully JV moves into the 2 slot

Fransen 2.0

Leafs sure don't have much luck with that 4 years 4.25 offer.

Getting Kane would make it a lot easier to sell tickets this off season. Hope it happens.
