Kinda makes you wonder what ANA would have gave us for Raymond-Ballard and a 1st?

- LordHumungous

So you're saying that Corey Perry could have been on the Twins right wing for the last 4-5 years? I love it.

He would have been punking the Twins for years, like Ben Gay in the jock

I pointed out after their idiotic comments that those ficktards have no idea what goes on in vancity. In fact, it's been pointed out too many times to count that all those ass munchers know is what the consensus is in Toronto regarding vancity. They have no clue, especially that pos Dreger.

The only guy with some credibility is Mackenzie and he doesn't often comment on the Nux...

- kaptaan

It's also those advanced stats butt-munchers. If it doesn't plug into their models, then a GM doesn't know what he is doing. Or if a team isn't good, they shouldn't sign good players. That's idiotic. The thing is every year, the so-called experts get it wrong. Did they predict an SJ-Pitt final? Wasn't SJ considered finished after last year?

They would be singing a different story if Toronto had signed Stamkos, they would be saying it was a brilliant move. We have to remember TSN isn't broadcasting to us, their product is for one market only.

Again true, but why?

Why wait for 2 years until you start your true rebuild? Why take another run at a championship while the twins are in their declining years? That’s stupid.

I’m a big sedin fan. Off ice stuff just as much as on ice stuff. But there was no injustice done to them. They were not cheated out of anything.

I think people forget that they too played on some really great teams. From the west coast express days to just a few years ago. They were always put in a position to succeed, had multiple shots at the cup, and have been recognized for their efforts with NHL records, trophies, and money. More than the vast majority of NHLers will ever experience.

I think its time to transition and once again the twins can leave their fingerprints on the history of the canucks by molding the future of this club. Business first.

what do you want them to do?? whats your idea of a Vancouver rebuild? how are they supposed to do it differently?

theres the Edmonton way which clearly didn't work - The Toronto way which is a work in progress - the Columbus way, who in the last ten years have had 6 top 10 picks and haven't won sh&T. The Jets have had great luck drafting, they're no further ahead, despite adding serviceable players around the youth. Chicago who got Toews and kane BUT also got insanely lucky with high drafts picks becoming stars - who could've predicted that?

the truth is, every team that wins the cup has a completely unique way of winning and the same model obviously doesn't work for any two teams, its a different recipe each year. Most importantly, no one can predict how that championship team is gonna win.

No one expected Pitts to win this year, inexperienced goalie, a Defence led by Letang and a slew of cast offs. BUT They just pieced together a few decent lines with speed first and it worked. The recipe for success changes year to year, team to team.

Thank you for this...it seems like common sense but it needs to be said over and over again. There is no proven model for a rebuild. Anyone that says there is is full of sh!t

I think Canucks are close , maybe a player or two away. As Chompsey was saying if you get Barrie and Kane then this is a very different team

Common sense isn't so common anymore. Everyone continually whines about stuff they have no control over and then goes off the deep end when they haven't got what they want after 30 seconds goes by.

They are definitely closer then most give them credit for. I don't see why the Canucks and Benning maintain the joke of the NHL after 1 terrible year. Everyone completely disregards the abomination the Leafs, Flames, and Oilers have been for 10 years. The Leafs even longer. The world has really gone to poop when a guy like Steve (frank)ing Dangle gets as much support as he does.

The Islanders have has a "solid team" for a few years now, and then guys leave and they start over

I'm thinking JT is as good as gone when his contract is up

He'll be the 10 million $$$ guy that goes to Toronto

- TheGame316

He'll never come to Toronto according to a bloke I know who used to work for the Islanders. If he leaves NYI, Buffalo is the best bet apparently

Not sure who Scooby's hairdresser is, but this guy worked on the game commentary with the colour guys. Think he was like Hendricks for the Leafs. Who knows? But apparently JT and his family love Buffalo. Something to do with his uncle playing lacrosse there?
