Sam Gagner and Simon Gagne are not the same person...
- Vanoxy

Wonder why no one seems to want sammy then.

I think Canucks are close , maybe a player or two away. As Chompsey was saying if you get Barrie and Kane then this is a very different team
- VANTEL

with Juolevi coming onboard probably in a year or so our D will be set. While Kane could be an investment in our future I see us needing more of a power forward type....a rough tkachuk type. It wins hockey games. We dont have enough gritty players currently. Grit players are needed to make room for skill players.

we cant be a contender though with the current coaching staff.

What do we need first skill or grit because we don't have either?

I wouldn't say we don't have either. Just not enough of either one to brag about it. Guddy will bring some grit for sure though and Tryamkin should have plenty to prove next year.

Potential is what we have but very limited potential.

They would be singing a different story if Toronto had signed Stamkos, they would be saying it was a brilliant move. We have to remember TSN isn't broadcasting to us, their product is for one market only.

Is there a quota of posts bltching about the media that we are forced to meet? I'm not piling on, because I do it too, but why do we take it so personally and is there a less useful thing to bltch about? I swear, when it comes to the media, particularly Eastern based media, we are all a bunch of Kaptaans.

Someone has an opinion. We don't agree with it. And that's fine because we are also entitled to our opinions. But that doesn't invalidate theirs, or even make them wrong, because it's July and no one is playing hockey for awhile and all there is are opinions. It's what they are paid to do.

I don't watch it or listen to it and find Kaptaan's rants very funny. People have to realize their job is to get you to listen. STOP LISTENING!!!!! it wont bother you.

Or listen, but don't act like what they say is gospel. There is no need to avoid opinions that you don't agree with, I think a lot of problems can be traced back to people doing exactly that, but consider them and then move on. Why get upset?

So was Virtanen. You can't expect prospects to break in to the NHL within a year. Some take 2-3 years to really blossom. This lack of patience for some is incredibly mind boggling. Fickle fan base indeed.

What's the thumbs up for? Virtanen is clearly a colossal bust and should be traded yesterday. Preferably for cap space

If JB can get Barrie for Tanev plus, we'd be set on D... Tanev is pretty average... not sure why Nux fans think he's something special.

then if he can pick up Kane we'd be set up front.

Make it happen JB.

It's also those advanced stats butt-munchers. If it doesn't plug into their models, then a GM doesn't know what he is doing. Or if a team isn't good, they shouldn't sign good players. That's idiotic. The thing is every year, the so-called experts get it wrong. Did they predict an SJ-Pitt final? Wasn't SJ considered finished after last year?
