Not entirely. They can still come to terms before the hearing in which case they can be traded. But not for a year after the team agrees to the arbitrator's ruling(maybe it's the first day of the next league year, whichever). Obviously if they don't the player is a UFA. - Wetbandit1
I'm not sure that applies to arbitration cases only offer sheets that are matched.

I know you're big into analytics and so is Coller but this whole Pysyk thing has ruined any credibility he had left.
The same guy who said he wouldn't trade Girgensons straight up for the #1 pick overall (Makinnon). - Stripes77
Just to piggy back off this. The way Coller analyze's players are hilarious.
I want to prove Pysyk is good - post hero chart
I want to prove Kulikov is bad - post hero chart
I want to prove Myers was bad- post hero chart
I want to prove Bogosian is bad - post her chart
I want to trade for Fowler- make excuses why his hero chart is bad.

He took a beating on Twitter when people started posting Risto's hero chart and then Coliovaccio's.
He had to back track really fast.
The thing with Fowler is IMO with how "bad" he was his coach used him more in defensive situations more than all his other defenseman. If he's that bad why he is being used like that? I think the answer is pretty simple he's better than those fancy stats say and you cannot use those to solely base your opinion on a player.

Yeah, now I'm confused as well. I thought it applied to both. But only after either the offer sheet or the arbitrator's ruling were matched. - Wetbandit1
It's going to be really funny when Ottawa walks away from the ruling!
Get me some Hoffman and Vesey with only giving up a 3rd rounder!
Sign me up for that!
Then improve the blue line and you're onto something!

Agreed. Usually if a player is good, you can find some good in the stats as well.
For example Fowler was deployed as a defensive D man, but still scored at a good rate at even strength over his career.
Same applied for Pysyk, there is bad in there. You just have to be unbiased to find it
They do have Scrooge McDuck as the owner he's all about saving pennies - GERBE!!!75PTS
Penny pinching owner probably means he has the same philosophy regarding assets/value. As in I can't possibly see a scenario in which he's ok with just letting Hoffman go. He may not want to pay him, but he won't give him away.

My whole life is one long string of disappointed expectations. It will help if you learn to enjoy Brown liquor. - Der Kaiser
Lol.
While I continue to drink the Bourbon, I have calmed down on the HB.
I remember I used to get into some back and forth with a certain poster. Now I try to let it go ... Of course that may be the new brand of Smoke I burn as well.
Enjoying a couple cans of Rohrbach Scotch Ale tonight before I hit the Bourbon and smoke.
