Bo sometimes hits, Hank and Dank were throwing punches last season. I think Etem starts to play a more physical forecheck kind of game. I remember read an interview where he seemed to realize that is what he needs to do in order to stay in the league. Dorsett may hit like a mosquito, but he still hits. - Retinalz
ETEM has no choice this season but to show he can skate & show up every shift & if not his show me contract will be just that. IDK if he is very smart but his window is closing fast if he doesn't walk thru the door of opportunity IMO |
|

|
But I don't remember them saying they were going to retool the roster so the twins can have one last shot at the cup before they shut it down. I do remember emphasis on drafting and 'doing it right'.
I think they are going for it too early and not being patient enough to develop slowly and methodically. - bloatedmosquito
Who's decision is that? |

Tootoo signs with Chicago - why didn't the Canucks take a shot? he certainly provides a lot of grit and truculence
Interesting signing, though, given that the Hawks are in cap purgatory - perhaps they are thinking of him as a replacement for Shaw? ![:?](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/confused.gif) wishful thinking, indeed |

Just throwing this out there... Does anyone think that Virt might end up in the AHL for a time this season? - bloatedmosquito
i think it would be good for him. hopefully light it up a bit, get some playing time and confidence and maybe not get hurt. last year was a toughy with world jrs.
that said, i hope shinkaruk doesn't do well this year. hate to have shames fans bugging me about nucks gifting tkatchuk and him. |

Tanev doesn't fit into the physical gritty game plan that JB wants the team to follow. We need skill guys and physical gritty guys, not marshmallow guys who can't get a puck through to the net. - kaptaan
U go & on about Tanev ad nauseum.
All u have proven is nothing other than u do not like him & offer up no rational options eg a trade that makes any sense to the Canucks getting value back. |

Why do you feel the need to jump in all the time and state the obvious? Is it an age related thing? Is that what happens to old people as they get older and the faculties start wearing down. - kaptaan
its more to do with the under developed faculties of youth with some ppl LMAO |

You do realize he's trolling you and you are taking the bait.
I think Tanev is overvalued by our fan base, and if the return is the same or bigger than Larsson, I'd trade Tanev in a heartbeat. |

I know we have had this discussion many times...but, how are they going for it? Signing a UFA so they can hopefully entertain the fans and push for the playoffs? To me, going for it would involve trading Boeser or Virt and a future first for players to push us over the edge. They are still hanging onto their most important future pieces |

How exactly does signing one player and trading for a 24 year old former third oa pick suggest they are "going for it"? |

Yes.
The value back would be anybody who can hit and get a shot through to the net with a bit of mustard on it.
In fact, I'd propose trading him to Tampa for Garrison and if he , Tanev, has as much value as some Nux fans think then a pick is not unreasonable as well.

Bo 69 hits in 82 games
Daniel 20 in 82
Hank 9 in 74
Dorsett 127 in 71
JV 128 in 55
JV is our biggest hitter among the forwards, more hits than Dorsett in 16 less games. ![:aah:](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/ahh.gif)
Edit: Etem had 61 in 39 games, he better get it going. - A_SteamingLombardi

So you want someone who can get a shot through to the net, and you suggest someone who can barely hit the net? I sincerely hope your trolling. But based on your previous posts, i doubt you are. |

Tampa would trade Garrison and 2 second round picks for Tanev (probably add a first)...Thankfully, no one in the Canucks organization has views on player value like you.

Garrison gets more through than Tanev and even if he doesn't get a shot through at any given time, its heavy enough to inflict pain on anyone blocking it. Tanev's shots just bounce off guys without really doing anything. Secondly, which you fail to mention, Garrison has a physical component to his game and can physically match up with opposing forwards. Tanev can't. |

I see no reason to trade TANEV til our depth is better & a D forces a trade.
any deal for TANEV brings back a top 6 F or hopefully a !C or 2C.
that is not likely so stand pat makes more s4ense IMO |
