If they actually get him to sign by the end of this week I'd be shocked and excited beyond means.

I now do believe that he waits until August 15th and then openly decides. I still think it is more than 50% likely he picks Buffalo in that scenario.

He would be just viewed as a bit of a cry baby if he didn't actually stick to his guns of going to UFA and be labeled as just not wanting to play for the team that drafted him.

He is going to have a HELLUVA spotlight on him this season to perform up to the amount of work that is being put into him this off season though.
