Any particular reason Sweeney regressed this past year? were injuries a factor? or perhaps deployment? he certainly looks to have an NHL body, though - which is always a bonus. Any further information or write-ups about him? |

I think if JB makes a move for another winger as he has said he might try, it would have to involve trading one of Baertschi or Hansen |

Thanks Carol and congrats to LeftCoaster's in-depth prospects camp report
As far as diets go, I am not sure if any of you have the Vancouver Canucks snapchat, but I have been watching them the last few days and there was footage of the young lads cheating. Brock Boeser with an ice cream and a few others wolfing down a big bag of chips in the evening.
I'm sure they will be okay and a little cheating here and there won't hurt anyone, but I wonder how strict some of their diets are? Anyways, it's been fun watching them via snapchat! |

Sweeney isn't an NHL or AHL prospect. He is heading to University after his overage season. Not sure why he would be invited. |

So Vegas can only poach one player form each team right? |

They have to take exactly 1 from each team |

Yes. We will likely lose one of Etem, SBisa, Larson, Granlund or Gaunce. |

My worry is what if Rodin turns out to be quite good this year? Could pose a problem. |

looks like a very reasonable signing - glad to get that out of the way so we can concentrate on improving areas of weakness.
On a separate note, any chance Stetcher makes the team this year? |

We have 9 D without him, JB seems to think he is best suited for the higher minutes in the AHL, also when asked about next years D corps JB listed names for who would be competing for the bottom spots and did not mention Stetcher. |

Travis Green has also said he thinks Stecher needs AHL time as his next step.

Maybe the Canucks need to spend some time with Peter Lawless. Peter was personal coach for Canadian Para-Olympian and World Champion gold medalist (and World + Olympic record holder) Michelle Stilwell. If you ever get a chance to listen to him speak, he provides an exceptional story of what it takes to be the BEST in the world.

Excert: "The Binary Life is about being painstakingly deliberate in all of your decision making. I remember first hearing of binary code a long time ago and I was staggered by the simplicity of it. It was hard to believe that using only zeros and ones, incredibly complicated programs could be written – however it worked. Similarly, in the binary life, I believe we can reduce all of our choices down to either being a zero or a one. Basically, I feel that for athletes and coaches who are devoted to success, life is binary. All of the myriad of choices that face each athlete and each coach can be reduced down to being either a zero or a one. Either the selected option helps me achieve my goal (making it a “1”), or it doesn’t help as much or negatively impacts the achievement of the goal (making it a “0”).
Either finishing a planned workout at full commitment or coasting is a choice each athlete faces when they are tired. Its “easy” to slow down a little, go through the motions. But in a binary life, the choice for the athlete is stark – they can fully commit to the work (a “1”) knowing that work is crucial to their ultimate goal or they can ease off a bit (a “0”) but in doing so they hurt their chances even just a little bit of achieving their goal. It’s the same choice when faced with drinking pop instead of water, going to bed on time versus watching one more episode of my favourite show.
The binary life emphasizes active recognition that every single choice I make has a direct and tangible actual impact on my ultimate goal. I feel that using a binary construct is a very effective and useful way of tying these small, sometimes unthinking, choices to the sometimes far off and seemingly unconnected goals. It’s a way of connecting the salad vs. fries choice to stepping onto a World Championship podium. It’s a way of staying true to ourselves by acknowledging that every choice has a positive or negative impact on our goal. It’s a way of ensuring a thoughtless choice is not allowed to detract from achieving athletic success." |

Someone tell Travis Green about a guy named Ben Hutton. - manvanfan
In fairness to last year Hutton might not have played as much if we didn't have so many injuries to the top4. If our top4 stay healthy I see Stecher spending the majority of his time in Utica learning the craft. Interesting to compare him to Subban in Utica and their growth. |

Hutton made the team out of camp. No injuries had happened yet, maybe not so much in top 4 but he was still on the team. If stecher made the team as a bottom pairing, would still show that Green is wrong. |

Not sure how you structured this but they have to expose a goalie, so unless they get one under contract they have to put out Markstrom. Also some of your "protected" are ineligible to be selected anyways |
