Bernier was due a 2 million bonus which was paid by Toronto, so Anh only pays 2.15 of his salary. Had he been traded in the original deal, Anh would of had to pay the full amount.

I would be ok with Hudler...trade Rodin to make room....on a one or 2 year contract max.

Rodin won't be traded before they get a look at him.

I'm not a fan of Hudler but he would definitely make the team better in the short term. I imagine if they do sign him it would mean that more youngsters would be going to the AHL and if Rodin doesn't work out would get an opportunity at that point.

I agree, but they certainly could fit him in without trading anyone.

Rodin won't be competing with a guy like Hudler, he will need to be beating out Etem, Virtanen, Gaunce, Zaleweski.

Like it or not this team's forwards will be small without much skill again this year.

I hope Virtanen can force the team to keep him up because they need his physicality but at the same time I hope at some point he is able to develop his offensive game, something I think that requires PP opportunities and lots of ice time.
