Rodin is a lef hand shot that plays RW, just like Tryamkin.
JV plays both wings and if h wants to play top 6 he better learn LW because Eriksson is signed for 6 years and Boeser arrives next year. JV played both sides last year - VANTEL
'
AHL assignment to groom him as a LW maybe? I hope he comes in with ten pounds of muscle on, love to see him with the big club. Not going to be easy for him this year! |

I would take that bet in a heartbeat!! Virtanen, drove possession last year, led the team. He plays a heavy game, something the Canucks don't have! He'd have to have an extremely poor camp for him to go down IMO. - LeftCoaster
I agree but he's still the only one that could be sent down without clearing waivers.

It's not about which side they can or cannot play, it's about which hand they shoot with. The twins have said it make it difficult when everyone shoots the same way, but they make it work. That's what I mean.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. At this point, Virtanen is a better player than Boeser. Jake Virtanen is and was a gifted scorer like Boeser is, but he's a better skater, not that Boeser is poor.
My point is, Boeser should and will be sheltered when he arrives into the NHL, unless he sets the league on fire....which is doubtful. |

There's eight wing positions, if he's better than all but two of them, I suspect he stays 100%. |

Yeah need to see how it plays out. All we do know is we have too many forwards and a trade will happen |

This is why I bust your balls all the time
You've got three left shot guys on one line and three right shot guys on the other, plus, Virtanen, Sutter and Hansen are all shooters, who's gonna pass on that line?
We don't even know if Rodin can play in the NHL, at best he's a third line guy until he proves otherwise, much like Baertschi was last year.
Sutter needs a passer on his line, the only way he can pass the puck is if he hands it to you in a pail. Put Baertschi with him and Kane, Baertschi can play the off wing. Keep Bo and Virtanen together on that third line so you can control their minutes, put Rodin on the left side with them.
Dany Hank Eriksson
Kane Sutter Baertschi
Rodin Horvat Virtanen
Gaunce Granlund Dorsett
Damn it where's Hansen? - LeftCoaster
Based on your earlier post about your dislike of a Hutton (plus low-end prospect) deal for Kane, I note you've now penciled him in as a second line player for the Canucks. So, how do you think the Canucks make this acquisition, then? |

How nuts would this crowd go if JB traded for Kane and Schenn? |

They don't?
That was in response to Vantel's lineup card by the way. |

I totally understand what he brings to the team but I wouldn't be surprised if he started in Utica one bit. I'd prefer he played in the top 6 over bottom 6 though. If he's on the 3rd line, I think he'd develop better on top line in Utica. If he plays on the second line in the NHL, then he'd develop better there. |

I'd be shocked if he got both let alone one of them. I don't see how that happens but I'm listening. |

Again, I think there is a .006% chance he doesn't start in Vancouver. The Canucks need him. It's about Vancouver first and foremost not about Utica |

IMO he can develop fine playing 12-14 minutes a night on the third line RW spot. If he starts to produce offense, perfect, he'll force his way up the lineup. |

I doubt it too , just poking the bear seeing there is absolutely no other news or nothing to talk about.
Ok
Kane for Hutton and Sven
Schenn for 2017 first , Columbus second , JV
Would need to throw in Burrows for cap space |

I'd say it's about his development first and foremost and he would benefit from a bigger role. If that's with the Canucks then great, if it's in Utica it would still be beneficial. |

I think the Canucks feel he will develop best with big club. Also, the Canucks need him now. There is nobody else that can provide what he does. The ONLY way he starts in Utica if he shows up to camp with a Wellwood body |

You lost me. Moving Hutton and Virtanen would be a step back. They would need to move Edler, Hansen, Etem, Gaunce or Hansen without damaging the current plan. Sbisa and Tanev play top minutes (terrible I know) and Juolevi moves in after Sbisa contract ends. Boeser replaces the winger with possibility Rodin works as a stop gap until then.
Is it Tuesday? |

I hope youre right and this year's training camp will be a good one for sure. I don't want you get me wrong either, i'd prefer JV on the team. |

I understand the opinion that perhaps he will develop better in a scoring role in Utica but I just don't see it. The fact that he is cranking weights with the Sedins is a great sign |

Schenn brings the grit that JV brings , out scores him by a mile, and can be a top 6 center. I am sure while you are saying this is too much , fans from other fan bases are saying it is not enough.
Kane is better than Sven . Period. If you get Kane you do not need Sven . If you could replace Hutton with Sbisa sure , I was just building off the suggested trade proposal from earlier about Hutton for Kane.

Just curious and thus throwing this out there - what if Kane didn't have any off-ice issues, what would his value be worth then? and what sort of package would need to be put together in order to snag him? you would think that, at some point, he will mature and outgrow the negative behaviour that he's been involved with to date. Hence, why wouldn't Buffalo try and wait things out a little further before making any move, so any deal would at least somewhat reflect his talent level? at this point in time, you have to believe his value is so low that there is no where to go but up? is more patience justified? or is it a pipe dream to think he will change his ways (note that he is still a kid for all intents and purposes and with the right situation would surely be worth bringing in as a reclamation project -especially given his ties to Vancouver, his parents, and idolatry of Linden in providing a stable and positive environment) |
