For anyone thinking that Eichel isn't getting at least $7M on his next contract. Just look at the Barkov, Scheifele and MacKinnon deals. And just wait for the Kucherov deal that's coming. Although given that the draw of 0% state income tax in Florida is a bigger deal than I thought it might be it might not be as much money as we think. - Wetbandit1

Just curious why 6? That would take him to UFA. Shouldn't we max at 8? |

We should. Whether he accepts it or not is another thing entirely. |

I think he would. He'd either take the short deal wanting to cash in on huge money long term in 2 years, or figure he's getting probably 2 huge contracts and sign for 8 |

Let's say he puts up 70 pts next year (Very reasonable) I say we offer him an 8 year 8 per mill deal because if he puts up bigger than 70 pts on his 3rd year on ELC he'll want more |

Going back to the Toews and Kane thing. They both took 6 years. It gets them for a reasonable cap hit for 6 years and then they really get paid. The goal is to make the most money the fastest. He signs a 6 year deal in good faith knowing he is gonna get paid. |

I actually think it was fine for him. He was traded a year after. Not sure he would have got much more one year later |

He's going to be gone. Get excited about it.
Actually, you could probably score an autograph when he plays in your hometown in a year |

Don't believe what you read, Murray will do nothing until he hears everything. You don't see McCoy gone after his troubles.
Myers is gone time to get excited about it. |

So over/under on how many teams use a Pu-related team name? 5? - sbroads24

McCoy didn't get in trouble prior to this incident, and his contract would have created dead money if they cut him.
We might still have Kane this year, but Murray has already tried to trade him. That's pretty much a fact at this point. It's been said by quite a few already. They don't want the headache anymore.
Vesey is more important

Bailey was impressive during his stint with the big club. Also scored at a PPG pace down the stretch for the Amerks.
I wouldn't be surprised if Bailey takes Kane's place in a year or two. Especially if Murray feels that money could be spent better elsewhere.
Just my thoughts. |

If Vesey signs, Nash is traded for, Kane is gone.

I really wanted them to go all out for a d-man but if vesey signs Id have to give TM an A+on the off season. That'd make 3 top 6 forwards(well 2 + 1 future one) added to the team and all you surrendered was one of your 4 third rounders. That's pretty damn good. |

For now we should move on from Vesey and not worry as of now what he does. If we get him great if not we move on. |
