He isnt a typical 4C, but I dont think the Canucks will try to implement a typical 4th line

- WhiteLie

I agree, I like the fact that he has more offensive upside than your typical 4th line. The Canucks will need balanced scoring if they hope to make the playoffs

I remember you went to a game and called him a Chicken . I don't see Gaunce as long term here, but I don't dislike him either. He has been just ok .
- VANTEL

I called who a chicken? Granlund or Gaunce? Either way, they both need to play more physical. I am not a big Granlund or Gaunce supporter. I just see Granlund as the better more proven player at the moment. I would be ecstatic if Gaunce makes the team and has a productive NHL career. I am just not sure if that will be the case.

It was Gaunce. I agree we need guys to play a little grittier and go battle in front of the net

That looks about right I think...I predicted 195 goals from the forwards a few weeks ago which should put us in the running for a playoff spot as long as our D is improved.

How many from Dmen? We scored less than 195 in total last year

News 1130 Sports: (from Monday) The Canucks are looking at the secondary free agent market – some targets include Josh Jooris, Jared Knight, Brandon Pirri and Sam Gagner.

If JB is looking at these guys he must be ready to trade a bottom 6 forward or 2, hopefully for some picks if one of those guys decides to sign.

I'm hoping someone in management happens to read one of my comments about Tanev and extrapolates/ construes that as the green light to get rid of him from the fanbase.
- kaptaan

Why? Because you know nothing about hockey?

alright, so quick scattering of radom numbers then.
Sedin (25) Sedin (15) Erikson (25)
Trade ? (18) Sutter (18) Hansen (15)
Sven (17) Bo (18) Rodin (15)
Etem (10) Gaunce (5) JV (10)

That sounds optimal if everyone plays a full season.
That ?trade is a big ol ? tho. Plus i think that's optimistic for Rodin in his 1st season. That would be a nice surprise.

I agree, this looks correct if everyone is healthy and has the seasons we expect. Which is why I think we might not get that many.

oh. and granlund.

i guess that's why some predict that JV starts in Utica (barring a trade one or more of Burrows, Dorsett, Granlund)

Gaunce scored 1 point in 20 games, you are easily impressed. granlunds resume in the AHL and NHL is far more impressive than Gaunce. It's Grablunds spot to lose not Gaunces
- CanuckDon

The points didn't come but he did also have those 2 disallowed goals as well.

What he did do was come in and win battles, win faceoffs, play on the PK, go to the net. He wasn't amazing but I thought he was able to transfer the same skills that have made him a valuable player in the AHL to the NHL. He isn't a sexy player but he gets better every year and IMO should be able to carve out a role in the NHL and I think the points will come.

Granlund makes some slick plays at times but can't win a battle or win a face off. I actually think he is a downgrade on Vey.
