Multiple players out to load up on 2nd rounders for trading away later in the season

The points didn't come but he did also have those 2 disallowed goals as well.

What he did do was come in and win battles, win faceoffs, play on the PK, go to the net. He wasn't amazing but I thought he was able to transfer the same skills that have made him a valuable player in the AHL to the NHL. He isn't a sexy player but he gets better every year and IMO should be able to carve out a role in the NHL and I think the points will come.

Granlund makes some slick plays at times but can't win a battle or win a face off. I actually think he is a downgrade on Vey.

Disagree on Vey being better than Granlund. Granlund is grittier and better defensively. I like Gaunce but we need more than 5 goals a season from our 4th line center. I don't care how well he performs defensively if he can't produce at a better clip than he has so far. Granlund deserves another shot, last season was to small a sample size.

I don't have any doubts that overtime you would see Gaunce put up more goals, he averaged 1.7 shots per game over Granlunds 1.2 despite getting nearly 3 min less a night and no PP time but PK time. He also was deployed less advantageously and with worse line mates.

You are right though last season was a small sample size for both players and do both deserve more time.

When u have not played hockey u do not understand the significance of the A nor what is expected in that capacity. That said the rules r a grey area & anyone can get an explanation from the ref at the penalty box 1/2 circle nowadays.
