Hall just went for larson
Edler and JV for landy you'd think we work. Potential landy replacement size wise and a top 3 d which is what they really need. I donno it would be tempting

- The_Kuze

If we are comparing that to the Hall trade it should be Edler straight up for Landeskog. Maybe throw in a pick or a prospect like Gaunce but not JV.

I still think Edler stays put and doesn't ever waive his NTC.

You are correct but that won't stop Edler from being traded 100 times on Carol's blog

I know. That's why I was blown away when we add anything to Edler in a trade for Landeskog. Might as well view it like the Oiler trade.

Colorado needs another forward too even after the sign Grigorenko but they can't take back more salary then they trade out so it makes it even more unlikely they do something like that.

I still think if they do trade with someone it will be Winnipeg.

Montreal doesn't seem like they're finished yet either.

I like Montreals moves so far. Some ballsy moves and I bet they end up with Shipachov. I expect Sergachev to be on their roster next year.

Shipachov Gally Radulov
MaxPax Shaw Gallagher
LaRose Pleks McCarron
Matthau Desharnais ?

BEaulieu Weber
Sergachev Markov
Emelin Petry

Only way we are getting Landeskog, is if one of Horvat, Virtanen are involved as well as likely a 1st or Boeser.
- belcherbd

That sounds so stupid, Bennings probably already on it.

Montreal team is way better thisbyear if price is healthy. A buddy of mine is friends with him tho and says Carey isn't sure if he can comeback it just doesn't seem to be getting better it's an absolute shame

They are going to regret letting Dale Weise get away.

Their roster being full says otherwise. Not alot of cap space either. Through trade only and it doesn't give them alot of wiggle room.

There is no chance Benning makes a trade including any of those players. The 1st pick is the only thing I see him dangling because most don't think we make the playoffs. If we did it would be a higher pick.

I'd still prefer not to trade it or anything of that significance.

Landeskog for a 1st involved is fine by me.
Highly doubt the 1st will be a better player.

Benning is either going to be doing a trade to get rid of some forwards and getting a top 6, or else camp is going to be a big competition for spots which cant hurt aswell. Id be all for trading Granlund and signing Sam Gagne for a reasonable hit. Also saying stetcher is ahead of Subban is a bit of a stretch without seeing him play in the AHL

I think the only doable trade for them is to involve 2 roster players.

For example:

Baertschi, Gaunce and a 1st.

It's not enough to get him but it's the only thing I think will work for us without mortgaging the future. If it involves JV I think it's premature to think he couldn't elevate his game to be a similar type player. It's a stretch for sure but JV has some similar traits with a lower ceiling.

I would think a realistic trade would be Baertschi, JV and a 1st but I'd be skeptical still because we aren't going to win any sooner by doing that trade.

I would prefer to do something along those lines over trading out a bunch of potential talent. To basically lose 3 1st round picks for 1 guy isn't a terrible hing when you're talking about Landeskog but I still thinks it's unrealistic. What Benning needs is for a couple guys to really shine this year to improve their value and make some good TDL trades. If not we start fresh next year and keep the drafting rolling.

Me too, John Weisbrod seems to have JB's ear with respect to CAL players. Jury's still out on the scouting staffs "consensus approval" of that deal. He may have had input on the Sven deal though?

Sven/Hansen/Sbisa/1st for Landeskog/Bigras/2nd
Av's sign/trade Barrie for cap space if needed.
That make any sense?😜
