I think if you asked anyone on here for a brief description of the 30 selected second roundplayers in this years draft , the most popular answer would be Tyler Benson was injured and he played for the Giants. This years draft fielded a list of nobody's . I agree with you sometimes people just like to complain

I love how the narrative changed to this is weak draft year once we moved our 2nd round pick.

Can you give me a brief description of the the 30 selected 2nd round players last year?

No can do I'm afraid.

Reciprocating Scooby's, Beatle_John's and Bloated's visits over the last 3 years.

Sorry man. I'd love to, but principles are principles.

That means you don't eat enough organic veggies, so you wouldn't fit in over here

It's the HB mantra.

Another one is player A was moved because of poor attitude. You hear it nearly every trade now.

Seriously you know I couldnt , and that proves my point that too much fuss is made about players that have a low percentage of making it in the NHL. About Five players drafted in the second round ever make the NHL so why fuss about a weak draft class of second round picks

You're just choosing one narrative, Vantel's, FYI. McCann and a 2nd for Gudbranson was just a good trade I would take 10/10 opportunities to do so.

I really like Sean Day myself, but he's still a coin flip. Gunbranson is a 24 year old top-4 d-man now. Day may end better, but we won't know who got fleeced for a while, but right now I love that trade.

It was a pretty weak draft from a depth perspective...but this is all besides the point. The % likelihood that a 2nd round pick will have an impact in the NHL is very low. It doesn't mean it's not a valuable asset but people get to focused on potential sometimes as opposed to the player we just added to our team. A big and mean top 4 dman who is young and likely has room for further growth in his career.

People are way to focused on who won or lost trades. The Canucks addressed a serious need and they had to pay a price. end of story

Hello folks,

My thoughts on "that survey" and a look at Adam Gaudette, another promising prospect, in today's blog:

The spot where Canucks were suppose to draft , Buffalo too a 5'11 Swedish center that scores 4 goals in 48 games in the SEL

TOR took with the 31 St pick a Russian forward that scored 6 goals and 6 assist in 41 games in the KHL

I would be a hard person to convince that we lost that trade.

I am not sure anyone needs to spell it out for you again. Every move has been scrutinized to death on this blog. We won't know who won many of the transactions for several years. Myself personally, I am embracing change and don't necessarily care who won every transaction. There doesn't always need to be a winner and loser in a trade.

Dude, all I said was that they did a good job of selling their plan to their fans. That is not an endorsement. If I forgot the obligatory "Leafs Suck" at the end of my post that's my bad.
- CubanBuffet

Its still a plan only without results yet.
Chances r very high it is nothing more than 30 other teams result.

NO CUP

Measuring teams by cup wins only is for dynastic reasons mostly.
Dynasties r not the norm anymore & of the past.
Ignoring the NBA & its Super Team garbage the NHL is so highly competitive with a long & brutal regular season many teams can make a cup run. Injuries or a hot goalie or a fantastic team effort generally decide teams fate.

I think people who support Benning will say he is rebuilding if they are bottom 10 again and if they make the playoffs, they will say he is rebuilding on the fly.

That said, I'm not sure that Ownership would feel the same and really that's all that likely matters to the mgmt group.

- belcherbd

The roster turnover & drafts have shown its rebuild on the fly.
