I also think they got the oilers wrong. In recent years they added draisatl/mcdavid/pulj. That meaks them(thorugh luck on mcdavid) the 1st ranked team in DD no matter what. They may suck in other rounds. But those 2/3 of those players are a cut above the rest in terms of talent. The only player that could rival is is Ekblad.

Its strange that there isn't really an big gaps in how fans broke down specific aspects. If they ranked one category a 4 then they rest are 4 or 5s it seems with little aberration throughout the rest of the teams.

No it makes them a bad team that happens to get lucky more often than not when it comes to the lottery. I think most Edm fans get that.

Considering the measurement is of confidence I'm actually surprised the Leafs arent higher. The consensus in the media and some fans is they are finally doing things the right way. There is extreme confidence and optimism that the team is going to be great in the future and wont rush prospects or trade away young assets.

That said I am not shocked Canucks are that low either, they have been painted as the laughing stock now that Edmonton has McDavid to carry them out of the basement. I am most shocked at Tampa as #1, with the gongshow that went on the past season and the Coyotes given their poor team should not have anyone's confidence at this stage (who signs Vermette to the contract they did, even during a rebuild? More questionable than Vrbata and Eriksson in my books)

Draisatl has developed into a great centre, McDavid was a guarantee, and Pulj looks like he will put up 30-40g/season for the next 10+ years. Just because they got lucky, doesn't mean that the players coming up are worthless.

Sbisa made Team Europe... so he can't be all that bad as some on here keep making him out to be...

I'd keep him over Tanev personally.

But their drafting has been awful outside of the first pick, and with the accumulated assets they had, they havent been able to turn it into anything besides a bottom finish. I can see fans having some confidence that they are going to round out the roster but now they finally acquired a solid defenseman it cost them one of the best wingers in the game. Hard to feel confident in management after that
