So.
Hurricanes inked Victor Rask to a 6 year, $24 million contract.

Rask totalled 21 goals and 48 points in 80 games in 2015-16

Could be used a measuring stick for Bo, no?

You're not wrong. Blowing it up and tanking is kinda the trend the last 10 years or so, but LA didn't really do that, nor the Bruins.

I'm glad things are the way they are. Can't win everything every year. I just can't wait to see how things look in 3 years for all teams tanking compared to us. I'll bet it won't be so far off. Having superstars by tanking is a great way to build a tea but if you're not simultaneously drafting well in later rounds you won't have much to surround them with. Look at Chicago and Pittsburgh. Hornqvist was literally the last pick overall in his draft year. Keith and Seabrook were mid to late rounders. Detroit is another really good example. Their stars came from the late rounds. It's definitely not all about tanking. All about the scouting, drafting and developing which I think Benning has started off very strong. I'm patient. I've had the pleasure of watching some great hockey in the last decade.

I think it'll be close. Somewhere around 4-4.5 unless he comes out and scores 60 points this year. Very unlikely though.

Seems like a good comparison, i could see Bo getting compared more to Sean Couturier, 6 years AV 4,333

Send kids to junior or A or Europe, keep them off the big club until they are ready. The Oilers, Flames, Panther, Thrasher, TML model of development has done nothing for those teams. Let the kids grow for a year or so.

yah. Seem reasonable (assuming Bo continues to develop).
Hopefully we don't saddle him with an 'A' just yet.

I think everyone is just against the Canucks. They think we should blow it up and I get the reasoning based on how bad we were last year but it's ridiculous to think that's the only way to do it.
- WhatTheNuck

The east coast media is so frustrated that we haven't gone that route. I can't blame them. We were the top team for years and the jealousy was and still is apparent. They want us to suck because of all the years we were killing it.

It's a good thing none of that bothers me. The media is a (frank)ing joke. And what's worse is the sheep that follow and believe that garbage.

We dominated for 2 solid years but stayed pretty competitive for most of AV's reign. That was our downfall when he got let go. Should've been Gillis instead.
