I liked the first Saw when it came out but the more I think about it, it was the death of good scary films. I watched the remake of the Hills Have Eyes on a date in high school. Made me so sick and uncomofrtable it ruined the date

I liked the original, and the 1st remake w Jessica Biel
Other than that, they were all pretty lame
Especially the one w Matthew McConaughey & Rene Zellweger

Have you seen the movie? It's not very long...

I never watched the 2nd one. The first one was a disgrace. It's everything I hate about "new" horror films. Gore and shock value. I'm not a fan of Rob Zombie. I know horror fans love him but I'm more about the scare and the suspense. A nice slasher film. I think Scream was the last good slasher film.

I like the way he re-did it & explained more where Michael Myers actually came from
I don't like all his movies,
But I thought House of 1000 Corpses was good as well (sequel sucked)
Agree on Scream...
Redefined what Horror movies could be
And the opening scene was also amazing. Usually the twist doesn't come till closer to the end. Such a good idea to cast it the way they did.
Also dos a nice job of making fun of the genre itself

I think it's a nice idea to introduce Myers backstory but it ruined it for me when the kids mutilating animals and has that over the top Zombie Gore. 1000 Corpses was far too graphic for me

I didn't even like the original Hills Have Eyes all that much
Big Wes Craven fan in general though
My uncle was a camera man for years & worked on The People Under the Stairs
Him & Wes still talk to this day
I almost met him once. Would've been so cool

But I think he was trying to show the progression
U don't just go from normal little kid to psychopath over night
That said,
I do see how the gore factor can turn some ppl off
But then again, it is a horror movie after all
