Sure, but what I like about films like Halloween, Friday the 13th etc is the gore was either cheesy or done in a way where it wasn't so graphic as it is now. I feel like it's done now out of making people sick instead of genuinely trying to scare people. I'd love to make a scary film throwback like the original Halloween or first couple 13th's

Also, they weren't allowed to show realistic death scenes back then
For the original Last House on the Left,
Wes Craven actually has to cut off the "R" rating from other movie reels and attach it bc he couldn't get it approved (story my uncle told me)
Now they can get away with a lot more
If I remember correctly,
U don't even actually see anyone die in the 1st Friday,
It all happens off camera & is just assumed by the viewer

I consider Seven more of a detective type movie though than horror. Sure, it's gruesome, but sick murderers that detectives track down fit that bill.
