Just watched Haggerty's interview with Vesey. First of all the guy is a grade A Boston moron. Seems convinced Vesey is signing there from interview based on stock answers to his questions.

Second of all I just don't get at all why Murray won't just waive the August 15th rights and let all other teams talk to him now. Is it against the rules for the Sabres to allow him to do this? If not, why not just give him the right now so you can know what you need to do while the few semi decent FA forwards remain or trade options remain. It just makes too much sense to me to allow him to talk now so if he decides he's signing elsewhere he can let Buffalo know and Murray can just move forward...

Could he still be using Eichel as a way to feel out Vesey's interest? If he does get the sense that Vesey won't sign here Aug 15 than maybe he tries to trade his rights to the team that Vesey wants to play for, get a late pick back in return.

So Foligno signed a one year deal the same salary he got last year. To me that doesn't sound promising for him. Frankly this is a make or break year for him. If he can duplicate the second half of last season great. If he's gonna be a 4th liner this deal albeit a one year deal isn't good.

Pick 1 should be easy to sign. Max contract. Max bonuses. Its not good when picks 2 and 3 sign to max deals, and pick 1 has not.

Realistically he'll sign fairly soon unless he's getting awful advice. No way he goes back to Switzerland for 3 years. He'd leave way too much money on the table doing that.

Yeah. But I could still understand. I remember being a teenager at Disney world when the sabres traded Hasek, I still wouldn't be able to resist coming to play for my hometown team.

The Foligno and Larsson 1 year deals tell me 1 of 2 things:

either Murray is hoping to trade them at the deadline

OR

these are "prove it" deals
