At least I'm providing something of substance. What are you offering up. Immature BS.
In 2 to 5 years lets see where the Canucks stand. With the current make up, prospects currently in the system it's going to get far more ugly before it gets better & I'm not just talking about a 3 to 5 years ugly. The rebuild to date has been handled well. Assets expended should have garnered better returns. They didn't & there is no way to make up for that now.
Nor do I have any faith in the current management team to achieve it. We should be adding picks not spending them. We're not adding enough prospects fast enough.
It takes almost 3 years for most prospects to get to the NHL if not selected in the top 10 another 5 to show there true colors. Horvat was selected 9th, was sent back to JR for 1 year & now has 2 years of NHL experince under his belt, his break is still over a year away. 20 to 25 golas & 50 to 55 points for Horvat next season. Potentially more if he had someone other than Baertschi & Virtanen to play with. - striker777
Just leave man. Go annoy the edmonton/calgary/toronto fans on their blog |

You are truly clueless. Meat & Potatoes huh? Forsling, Lockwood, Juolevi, McCann, Stukel, Demko, Zhukenov, Jasek...I can go on and on but you are making yourself look stupider with every post. congrats

I'm pretty sure in one of his earlier freak outs that he was telling us how smart and accomplished he was. Apparently he is awesome. |

I know this is a joke but it made me think of something just now. Is a guy like Brent Burns eligible to be counted as a forward or Dman during expansion? If so, that'd be an unfair advantage. - NorthNuck
A team should be able to fill the protected list with any player they want . Every team has the same amount of protected slots |

I assume you are referring to me? Do you know how to quote? Many on here have rebutted each of your non-sensical posts. If you are having trouble understanding what I mean just ask and I am more than happy to explain.

What like going to the cup, winning the Presidents trophy repeatedly, being 1 of the best teams in the NHL. That bad management. What ails the Canucks started when Acqulinni purchased the team.
Benning shipped out Garrison, Kesler, Bieksa & others & what do we have to show for it? He signed Miller causing cap issues, even he said he could have moved him 2 summers ago. Why are we paying a goalie 6 mil per when were 1 of the worst teams in the NHL & will be again this season?
Thank God when Benning waived Markstrom no 1 actually claimed him. |

NorthNuck raises an interesting point. For example (I know they won't protect him), If the Canucks wanted to protect Pedan as a forward could they as he played a couple games? |

First of all, Benning has only been at the helm for 3 drafts so what happened in 2013 probably isn't his fault Second of all, you criticize the lack of 2nd round picks and then turn around and praise him for the new young core (half of them were acquired with picks). Are you happy? sad? or really confused ? Also, your last point is a pretty definitive statement. What if he trades a 2nd for Barkov? Has he still lost you? He said at this years draft that they are done trading picks as they have done their best to fill the age gap. - CanuckDon
1) I never said Benning was rebuilding, I said the Canucks are rebuilding, which includes the 2013 draft, it was Gillis acknowledging the Canucks need to start restocking the cupboards as they were completely EMPTY!! Trading Schneider was IMO good asset management, acquiring the 9th overall pick when you've got Lu signed for the next dozen years was smart. He ended up (frank)ing it all up in the end, but getting that 9th overall pick was smart.
2) Again…I never once said Benning has built a new "young core", he hasn't, although it looks promising. Still, only Virtanen has actually made the NHL. I simply said he's acquired some young players and specifically said none of them are stars. That, in and of it's self, is "building".
3) A 2nd for Barkov…grow up or go play with the kids in the playground. |

Giving them a low ranking for Vision I think is also unfair.
Benning has stated his vision:
1. restock the prospect pipeline
2. fill the 24 year old (ish) player gap
3. add overall depth
4. build from the back and up the middle
5. aim to make the playoffs every year
Considering where he started ... I'm happy.
I don't get the whole "tear it down - tank" idea. Who has that worked for?
Chicago is always held up as an example. But I don't think they ever "tanked" on purpose. They just sucked for a while and got some exceptional picks. - whales
Bring back Tallon our 1st ever draft pick.
Bet he shows it was his team he built & not Bowman's.
Proved his worth once again in FLA.
TL would be well served hiring him for PR & assist JB & in other roles.

Given the fact that his posts don't tend to make sense (and the message continues to change), and he hasn't shown an ability to quote a poster, I highly doubt he ever had season tickets or the ability to pay for them |

I think it's fair to give Larson a shot at that, and if it fails miserably we'll be looking at making some moves. Problem there is that any defensive trades are probably lopsided as h*ll. I could see a poor powerplay affecting the outcomes of the season pretty heavily. Hoping the Eriksson Sedin connection is strong, and maybe Louie will help Edler with some more options for passing, puck retrieval and exposing defensive breakdowns. - VIRTBOHUT
Nowhere but up for the PP IMO.
Loui & a healthier lineup & kids a year older will do that.
The PK will be fine as usual.
D toughness is improved & will go a long ways for a PO bid.
Goal is good enough to keep us in every game. |

Where's Forsling now? Right we traded him for who again? I could list the name but how many of you even remember who with out looking it up? Oh a player we shipped out with Bonino & a draft pick. McCann gone. How are these solid selections helping the Canucks now?
How many of you have spent 8K annually to buy Canucks tickets for 25 years? Oh wait based on your classless remarks I keep forgetting your only 12 & can't afford ticktets yet. Hahahahahah
Clendening by the way. |

I don't see a problem with that.
I don't even have a problem if a team protected Demko as a forward. Every team can protect 7 forwards 1 goalie and 3 D . If you want to use a forward spot on your goalie go ahead. |
