I know you're busting chops, but if he does get dealt the return could get interesting. Only problem with a trade is we would have to only take 1 player back and the rest in picks/prospects. Wouldn't be able to protect more than 1 guy coming back with the expansion draft. Also, although likely it would have to be a foward, McD Staal and Girardi are our 3 protected defenseman.

its great to hear some guys want to lock up long term & save?
others like the 2 yr deal & watch him grow into his talent....
he is trpling + his last salary..why give him 4 mill now long term ?

I'm quite okay with this deal. remember, Gorton is not Slats. If Miller actually does what he needs to, Gorton will likely extend him after next season. Slats always refused to do that so we had all this drama of if our kids will be re-signed and I think(hope) Gorton will stop that and sign them during the season if needed.
