I'd pass on that. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have JVR, but trading Zacha, our best offensive prospect that is just 19yr old, for a 27yr old would be a step in the wrong direction. We aren't contenders just yet; at most we are now a bubble team. Stick to the plan and give the kids a chance to grow.

Hell no. Rather have Zacha. Kinkaid can go as far I care, nothing special IMO. Wedgewood is just fine as a backup. Plus Cory plays every game basically.

Crosby had concussions for like 2 years, but they never considered trading him. Zacha's had a few injuries, but that doesn't mean you just trade over a few injuries. Trading for JVR would be completely stupid, he's 27 already and has ONE 60 point season. Pass on him.

Yeah, I looked up JVR and we'll be trading Zacha who had an injury for another guy who just had a big injury, who by the way, missed 42 games.

JVR has hit 50 points twice in his career, one being a 60 point year. I hope Shero doesn't trade Zacha makes no sense. Zacha could play this year, so it makes no sense all together.

This Vesey short list gets longer by the minute.

Another year, another circus surrounding the decision of an over-hyped college free agent that spurned the team that drafted him and will become an average-or-worse NHL player.

The site reporting Zacha and Kinkaid to Toronto quotes Eklund which shows it is unreliable at best. Also has disclaimer that they may misrepresent the original article. Don't buy it

didn't read the blog, apologies. just wanted to quick post some stuff that was shared on a fb group regarding Vesey.

Best college player last season. Preds drafted him 4 years ago. Per the CBA players who haven't signed their ELC's 4 years after being drafted and went to NCAA can become free agents.

Vesey has stated that it's his right to become a FA, it's in the CBA. He can do this because he's so good. Whatever team picks him up will still only be able to sign him to an ELC for 2 years (could be 1 year) however, so money isn't the motivating factor.

Buffalo traded a 3rd rounder to the Preds for his negotiation rights some time just before the draft. They have Eichel who Vesey played with and is good friends, so everyone figured that Vesey would sign there.

He still hasn't signed, and is still going to go to UFA.

The teams in the running apparently are;

Buffalo has room on the LW and can offer ice time and has Eichel.

He grew up a Bruins fan and is from Boston. However their future outlook is pure dogpoop. Why would a young player go to the team that's clearly on the down swing?

Toronto drafted his brother to try and lure him (he's poop) and hired his dad as a scout. Again, the chance to play on the wing with Marner or Matthews.

Devils are on it now because of our young forward core, and we can get him a ton of ice time. He also wants to stay in the northeast.

The point was just because Zacha has had a few injuries, doesn't mean you just trade him. JVR honestly wouldn't help this team more compared to letting Zacha play.

I'm all for adding any talented youth, but I don't foresee us being on his radar. I like our youthful trajectory and I want to think that is enough to lure a coveted UFA, but it seems unlikely that NJ would be on his radar considering he seems to have a hard on for the three teams within a stones throw of his elementary school.
