the Road Warrior is my all time, #1 favorite movie and I'll go to the grave with that sentiment.
So, with that said, the franchise leaves me to rank the following 3….
Mad Max
Beyond Thunderdome
Fury Road
……I *kinda* think Mad Max beats out Fury road because it's a prequel that sets up the whole franchise.
I thought fury road was pretty damn good.
Thunderdome was fvcking hollywood, "we need to sell some Tina Turner records" stupid. So dumb……just soooo dumb.
Mark my words though. the road warrior is one of the greatest movies of my generation. The lead character spoke 14 lines of dialogue. It was a brilliant film that produced a lot on not much of a budget. I watch it about once every 3 months.
…..should probably change my avatar. - seedy
I think it's the kind of movie that, if you're a BIG Mad Max fan you'll dig it
But if not, all the hype will leave u wanting more
Actions scenes were good...
But what actually happened in the movie?
They drove way out to the middle of nowhere, then turned around & came back
Um, what?!
I know I'm simplifying it...
But I feel like they could've developed the story much more
That's prob why the movie was so short though too
3 stars outta 5,
And that's prob generous

I thought Fury Road was a throwback to those movies where they didn't have a huge budget so they were forced to get creative. I thought it was extremely well done. Just the special effects(car stunts) alone were worth the price of admission. I think every car stunt was done in camera(no computer effects).
They had to invent a new way to flip a car when it's close to other cars because all the old methods had an area of effect and would damage cars/people nearby. It was in the beginning when Max loses the Interceptor. During rehearsals the stunt guy actually set a world record for flips in a car. But when they actually shot the scene he fell short of the record, and immediately retired. He was a legend, so it's not like he was a young guy who walked away.
The guys on the poles were all Cirque de Soleil and to balance/control those 20' poles they attached small block V8 blocks to them. And on and on. Everything was done for real at speed.
The visual effects were less spectacular. The tornado scene in particular didn't really do it for me.
But the cars were all real. Even the half car half tank was real. They actually built it and it ran and did everything it needed to. Most of the speakers on the Doof Wagon worked. And yes that was a real flame thrower on the guitar controlled by the whammy bar, and the guitar actually worked as a guitar.

Am I the only that thinks mad max fury road was just average
For all the hype this film got everyone says it was the best film of the year .. I don't get it - GERBE!!!75PTS
I would rather have a bigger story about their "world" than what that movie was. The different factions explained would be cool, a look into the life in each of them, etc...but yeah, the movie was kind of annoying (trying to be spoiler-free). |

Very - it was quite big, not sure how the hell you could have missed advertising for it. |

I don't watch TV too much lately. Even though I bought a 55" visio 4k last august after I bought the house . Too much fun outside I guess. |

Interesting. Murray really has his eyes on Fowler, huh? Seems like a steep price.
The value of top-4 D has gotten really high. |

IMO Girgensons for Fowler straight up is a even deal, nothing is final just names being talked about again. |

I agree. Those names make sense from Anaheim's standpoint, as it seems they are looking to shed salary. |

top 4 is getting expensive compared to a 2/3 C..
i guess it depends what the + is.. i didn't expect Fasching to be movable since he focused on him when he first got here |

If we got Fowler but didn't have to resign Grigs what would that leave us to *potentially* go after another winger when that deal with the kid from Massachusetts finally falls through? |
