If we got Fowler but didn't have to resign Grigs what would that leave us to *potentially* go after another winger when that deal with the kid from Massachusetts finally falls through? - Havic3814
According to CapFriendly, Buffalo has about 8.15M in cap space and Fowler makes 4M. Not sure what the + would be in 89's post, so who knows if that would eat up more cap room or not. |

lots of ways to play it even if girgens is moved for fowler - homiedclown
not a huge fan of any of those 4th lines... COR shouldn't be full time in the NHL |

McNabb, two 2nds and Jonathan Parker for Fasching and Deslauriers - Murray's first day of trading as an NHL GM - March 5, 2014 (he made 3 trades that day apparently) |

where is Brayden in their D depth chart? could be be our missing top 4 guy? I think he was slow though and i don't know if we could afford another slow d man |

He played a bunch with Doughty, so of course some posters here blew up about how a GMTM traded away a "1st pairing d-man"...
I don't know their depth to say what line # he's on, but the rare games he didn't play with Doughty (only about 10-15 games he didn't), he was with Luke Schenn. |

I would think he keeps Fasching. Unless he isn't developing into what he expected . |

Folwer /Risto
Bogo/Kuli
McCabe/Franson/Nelson/Falk - sbroads24
Is Franson healthy? Chances of him being that way for long are probably slim as well. Nelson and Falk are probably doubtful (Falk more likely doubtful) as being anything but a 7 because I'd imagine Gorges would remain
McCabe/Ristolainen
Fowler/Bogosian
Kulikov/Gorges/Franson
(not sure of handedness of that 2nd pair) |

I would wager that too...but then again, I also never figured he'd trade Lemieux (Murray's 2nd ever draft pick). Obviously there were some extra circumstances there that I imagine led to getting rid of him, but I would figure such early moves/picks would be something a GM would stick with, almost stubbornly. |

Not much unless we unload another contract. We have around 9.5m left under the cap, fowler would take 4m of that, leaving 5.5 million for risto. The 925k of faesching would be replaced by 925k of Vessi, potentially |

I can't imagine Kulikov on the 3rd pair. I don't know. Maybe with Fowler, we don't need 46 for the PP

Well if he does move him, we won't ever think TM keeps players based on love. |

Wow! I didn't know Fowler was the second coming of Duncan Keith. The other Murray is asking waaaaaaaaaaaay too much for Fowler.
What's his plan next year? 3 skating lines and 4 D lines. He has 10 skaters and 8 D-Men.
He needs to not overvalue his players and just trade Fowler straight up for Girgs or I'd say he can take a hike.
PS. I rather get Lindholm. God knows what he'd want for him... |

it makes too much sense for the ducks to ask for him or bailey though. size is still at a premium in the west. the market for a young talented #3 center is less than that of a young talented top 4 D. they dont wanna add payroll and they want close to ready forward prospects. imagine how much better our left side looks with mccabe, kulikov, and fowler though. everybody likes the juice, nobody likes the squeeze. |

Not sold on Fowler...Unless the trade is for Shattenkirk then I'd rather start the season with the D that we currently have
Reassess when we get closer to the trade deadline:
If we are a top 5 team in the east, make the trade to sure up the D-corps and take a run at the 2016-2017 Cup finals
If we are in the race to 8th, stay put, get our first round exit, and pick up the missing D-link in the offseason so we can make our Cup run in 2017-2018 |

Do you think this deal could go down prior to the Vesey signing? If it does, that would make me think they are quite confident in signing him, or that they are ready to give Bailey a shot with the big club. |

I can see a line up that has both Vesey and Bailey here.
Kane ROR Okposo
Vesey Eichel Reinhart
Moulson Ennis Bailey

I think with nylander signing, girgens is expendable with or w/o vesey |
