I thought MacDonald played well when he was recalled. Not worth his contract but a steadier minute eater who played well with ghost. At the moment I consider him a bad contract on an average player. With Umberger, Vinnie, and Schenn & Grossman of the cap, we can afford one of those. At least until the expansion draft. - flyler
The problem I have is that he is not one of the top 6 best d-men right now, IMO. |

Yes really. Hakstol seemed to agree as well once he was back in the lineup.
I think he is a solid 4-5. - MBFlyerfan
Hakstol wasn't exactly overwhelmed with options, especially once MDZ went down. Who did that leave, Alchy McRussian as the odd man out? This season, with the increased competition from free agent signings and franchise prospects, will better gauge where AMac is with Hak and Hexy. IMO. |

Fully healthy, which 6 are better (keeping in mind that Ivan Provorov, if he makes the team, has yet to play 1 game of professional hockey) than AMac? |

Won't know that until training camp. I agreed with his demotion to start last season but he finished the season as a top 4 defenseman down the stretch.
There are 4 locks:
MDZ
Gudas
Ghost
Streit(unless he's surprisingly moved)
And 4 in tight competition:
Macdonald
Schultz
Manning
Provorov
Other's that could surprise:
Hagg
Brennan
Morin
Sanheim
Alt
Myers |

Seriously I get that. But why didn't he have the least amount of ice time out of the 6 that were playing? He had 5 other options that were better according to the posters in here.

Going to listen to the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album in hopes that maybe 1-2 songs sound like their older stuff as opposed to radio-friendly pop hits. I am fully expecting to be let down by them for a 4th straight album. |

He isn't good enough to break the bank on him.
To pay him 65% (estimate) or more of what Giroux and Voracek are getting is insane. |

It depends. If you like the Uplift Mofo Party Plan/Mother's Milk/Blood Sex Sugar Magic and maybe even One Hot Minute version, you will want to put your fist through whatever listening device you use. However, if you're more of a fan of the Californication/Stadium Arcadium style, maybe it's okay.
Honestly, much like Metallica, that band went straight to poop as soon as their singer cut his long hair...and when they stopped wearing nothing but underwear on stage (Metallica did not do this).
And yes, John Frusciante was the best guitarist that band ever had, although Hillel Slovak is pretty good of Uplift Mofo Party Plan. |

I'm only 27 so Californication was my first RHCP love, but I do enjoy some of the older crazier stuff. I got more into that after reading Scar Tissue, which I've now read at least 5 times, such a good book. Anthony Kiedis had a hell of a life. I'll give it a listen, like the last album I'm just hoping for a few songs I can get into to add to my "Best of" playlist on Spotify. |

Paying Schenn fair market value is not breaking the bank on him. |

Didn't backread, but wanted to put in my 2 cents...
Always was a big fan of Murray Craven!!!
Underrated is the perfect description for him. He was an integral part of that mid 80's team I grew up with. One of the few (or only, don't feel like looking it up) forwards from that team that wasn't drafted or signed as an undrafted free agent (Poulin, Kerr). Not that he was a household name in Detroit at all, but he certainly "made his bones" here |

Craven was the 17th overall pick in 1982. The Flyers got him in the Daryl Sittler deal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1982_NHL_Entry_Draft
Loved Craven when he was here. Will always remember the goal that led to this hockey hug:

Has it been mentioned that Kyle Palmieri took Callahan's spot on the USA roster? They had a chance to put Kessel on it and make things right, and they chose Palmieri. Lol. As a proud American, I hope the USA team loses every game this dumb World Cup. It will be better for their future. |
