Yeah, at first when I looked it up I was expecting the reason BUF/EDM wasn't a game is because 0 canadian teams would play on NBC national broadcast. Which kind of makes sense because it's for the USA.
The ONE Leaf game is going to be the Red Wings vs Leafs game on January 1st which is called the "Centennial ....." because it's TO's 100 year anniversary. It's an outdoor game in Toronto.
I'm not sure WTF is up with the 4 Montreal games.
There are things I can think of. MTL and TOR and have the biggest international(so USA) fan bases. They also have the biggest fan bases in total.
TOR will not be making the playoffs next year. In fact, even though many young Canadian teams are up and coming...the truth is MTL is probably the canadian team with the best chance of going anywhere THIS SEASON!(hold on....
...okay, I'm back. I had to vomit after I just said Habs are the best Canadian bteam...but remember it's only for THIS season. - Njuice
Montreal will not make the playoffs. IMO, they are one of the three worst teams in the league. Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton are all better. |

He thinks the Bruins are better than Florida. Was arguing this on the Leafs thread. - rmiethaner
I didn't say this. They have a defense that is made to dominate in the regular season. They have a defense that is made to fail in the playoffs.
They don't scare me one bit if we meet them in the playoffs. |

No we aren't. Prospect analysis from several outlets will prove to you that we aren't. We had a quick rebuild last year by trading assets for draft picks. Our core is as strong as the year we won the cup. - Bruiniak
I think the loss of Eriksson is really going to show and I would also expect Marchand to go back to being only a 20 + goal scorer. |

I'll take Backes over Eriksson any day of the week. I liked Eriksson but he doesn't bring what Backes brings to the table. |

Forgot about Backes. That is good center depth.

Thank you for the info. Suprised to hear that TM would offer Fasching up, but it does kind of make sense. - RhinoFan
Don't know if it was TM or the Ducks GM that included him, it was just names being talked about. |

Missed the article a while back, but just saw the Hockey News had us ranked #6 as the best prospect pool. A little surprising given player graduation and Murray shipping so many assets out. |

I like him also but looks like we may need to move a Dman if we make that deal, wouldn't mind seeing Girgensons as the #3 center either. |

It doesnt surprise me. Murray was smart enough to get some prospects and picks back in those trades. I think we have a decent tiered system set up. It appears theres a candidate or two to replace expiring contracts as they fall off the books.
Everyone who was crying that the "cupboard is bare" were doing it over Armia, Lemiux, grigo, zadorov and the 1st for lehner. None of those guys are doing anything of signifigant value for their respective teams right now.
We got players for those guys. Some are ok, some are oft injured, some are idiots, but we got players we could put on the ice the first game of the season last year.
Thats what we needed to do.
Plus we got eichel and reinhart.
Im totally happy with Murray's progress. He's doing exactly what he said he would do and he's clearing out absolutely everything darcy did, which makes total sense. |

Yeah, I agree, I think we have a solid group even if Nylander and maybe Ghule are our only grade A prospects. I believe we'll see soon that we've pulled some late round gems like Esteban, Pu, and Borgen. And something tells me we'll be looking at that Brett Murray the same way we do Hudson Fashing in a few years from now. Big guys, fourth rounders, tough to get off the puck.

Don't you mean Costa Rica? No extradition treaty, or maybe they just won't extradite on a capital case; either way. Plus Honduras is like all the worst parts of Chicago times a million. |
