I saw them last night in victoria. Amazing. Gord was emotional at the end and it was really sad but he was unreal. Gave 150 percent out there and crowd was behind him the whole time

Thanks. That's very similar to how those Spirit of the West shows felt in March. Glad you got to experience the moment!
I still can't believe Gord's wearing pink sequins after all these years...
I was never a big hip fan myself, but I have an uncle who is an old school music guy. He's always going on about when rock and roll mattered, he even has a t-shirt that says "I may not understand Facebook, but I've seen all the best bands live" and he always talks about the hip with the same reverence as Floyd or the Doors or the Stones.
Some things are just meant for a specific time and place and I think that describes the hip in Canada. I hope they get to go full rock star with the time they have left. They never got a lot of rotation on my iPod, but that's my bad taste, not theirs.
F*cking awesome blog, Carol!!! F*cking awesome!!
The soundtrack to my life and most every other Canadian over the past 30 years.

Thank you!
In the same way that I feel privileged to have seen Pavel Bure do his thing in his prime, I'm so appreciative of all the live music moments I've had the opportunity to experience. As you say, The Hip is a big part of that fabric in this country and that little show in Kamloops turned out to be one of those "I saw them when..." moments...
