I just read the Canucks article asking should Canucks trade Chris Tanev?
I am not the biggest Tanev cheerleader, but if you trade him who is your top line RHD? That is a big hole you leave.
I believe Stecher can play in the NHL but not top line minutes, nor do I think Gudbrandson is ready for that role.
He is one of the most reliable defensive Dmen in the league . He may not add a lot to scoring production , but what he lacks in O he keeps puck out in our end. - VANTEL
I agree but I still say if true and it was Hall for Tanev in a heartbeat I would do it. |

I'm sure Benning knows not to trade him for anything stupid - PhillySportsGuy
Even if it was a very good return , who do you put in top pair D? |

I understand that but then you need a different spot to fill |

Botchford just pulled that one outta his ass, Tanev isn't getting traded. |

I know. It's foolish because Pratt runs the story and gets everyone excited now Canucks Army. |

For all those thinking didn't you say he needed to be moved one and a half years ago. Yes I did. I still think Edler Tanev Hamhuis and Garrisson was a terrible setup.
I am so happy about the Juolevi pick so we can soon move Edler in about 2 years. |

I think the only reason they are talking about trading him is because of how much depth we have. It may not be proven depth but we have 20 defenseman in the system as of right now excluding Juolevi. I can't see Tanev being the odd guy out but he does have more value than all of them. I hope Edler is the guy to go personally but it's unlikely.
Detroit looks incredibly old and busted on defense... |

Id be all for trading Edler and Signing Russell as a 2 year stop gap for Juolevi. Its not looking like were winning a cup in that two years so only getting assets back for the D&D mindset. |

100% agree. That is why I said Hutton should be the trade bait. That is when Wiskey Tango blew the gasket. |

Even still is there a worthwhile return out there? I have doubts |

Hammer is history. The stupid NTCs have hindered us from being able to deal the waywe needed to. Thanks Gillis |

Still getting younger and getting assets from trading Edler, we arent winning a cup in two years, its better then trading him in two years when his value drops more |

Well, I guess since we've already traded Virtanen, Horvat, Boeser, Demko & Juolevi, Hutton was bound to be next on the chopping block. |

I know .
I would personally have neither on my team.
Right now we have Edler as a reliable Dman until Juolevi gets his feet wet.
I see our top 4 for the next 7 years once OJ is ready as Gudbrandson Tryamkin Juolevi and Tanev. No need to get older with Hamhuis |

I loved The Cult. Saw them open for Metallica at the Coliseum on the And Justice For All tour. I think I was one of about 10 women in the entire building and I never did find my friends that night - because I went early so I could see The Cult. It was intense and terrifying and awesome.
But I got to spin the Cult show a couple of years ago at the Commodore. That was super fun.
And I've spun for Chris Cornell at the Commodore a couple of times as well, though I have never seen Soundgarden proper. That voice! - Carol Schram
I caught that tour as well Carol but in Calgary. I love the Cult also but for metal heads at the time in the late 80's it was a bad pairing on the bill. Cult was basically booed off the stage and didn't play very long. Headbangers from the late 80's weren't very receptive to 'radio rock' at the time. Times have changed much since then though.
On the Hip I saw them twice once in the Centrium in Red Deer and once outdoors in EDM at the old festivals they used to hold at the outdoor University stadium. Both shows outstanding. However after "Day for Night" I stopped following the Hip. While I recognize Downie and the contribution the Hip has made to music over time, I haven't felt the need to buy any of their music after Day for Night. But everything before Day For Night was fantastic IMO.
Chris Cornell may have one of the top 5 rock voices of all time. Saw Soundgarden a few years back at the 'Dome in Calgary and he still had all the vocal range…unreal.
And thx again so much for your contribution to Hockeybuzz carol…you continue to be on of the top writers on here if not the top one already. Thank you so much for not being a goof like Tanner and a few others on here. It is appreciated. |

I know it sounds crazy. I still think there is one more trade to happen this year and depending on the return will determine who has to be pushed out . I do think Stecher next year 2017 will battle Hutton for his spot |

Thanks for the stories, Carol.
My wife, my friends and I tried to get tickets to the show in Victoria on Friday but we refuse to pay the reseller price.
We decided to throw a party instead last night that started off honoring the HIP and quickly evolved to a trip back to the 90's. I have many great memories listening to fully completely.
Pulled out some great albums from that period last night, Ten, Blues for a red sun, Bone Machine, blood sugar, sex, magik, ill communication, in utero, the chronic, the miseducation... And on and on.
So hung over right now but we'll worth it. |
