We could certainly keep Kane, sign Vesey. Problem solved. I highly doubt we get Hoffman and the Nash rumors have slowed.

Nylander I'm hoping makes the team so replace him with Kane
Then Kane to the 3rd line

am of the opinion that nylander needs seasoning...however, should Vesey sign somewhere else and Hoffman end up with another team, nylander might be an option, but not on the top line...i'd rather see him start on the third line and have Moulson on Eichel's other wing

Kane won't be on the third line and not sold on the idea of Nylander making the team but ya never know. If Nylander clicks with Eichel and Reinhart then he could.

That could happen MP no question. A lot of this is predicated on VZ.

sorry to say that it is...yet, regardless of the outcome, they're still in good shape most notably because of the okposo signing

Vesey is ideal as his cap-hit would only be $925k...Hoffman would be great, a known quantity as opposed to Vesey but he'll be commanding a salary in the $3m range...nash really is a no-go, imo...his cap-hit is way too high
- Michael Pachla

Only 2 years. Would effect very little if they are able or choose to move out dead weight in Moulson, Gorges, or decide to move from Kane or Franson.

Having Nash could/would also take some pressure of Vesey if he signed here or Nylander.

Hoffman is a really good player, but do we have the assets to acquire him?

If we màke one more trade Kane would be on the 3rd line
Which is not bad at all

The next trade might just involve Kane . So you won't find him on the third line.

Honestly though, 3 scoring lines is how you succeed in today's league.

Get 9 decent forwards, play the hot hand, create matchup problems.

I'd love a 3rd line that has a ton of speed

This would be a very good line up. However, a lot is riding on Vesey signing with us and Kane maturing between now and September. With each passing day, I think our , chances of Vesey signing with us diminish. Regarding Kane, I think a sit down with GMTM and Kane's agent will turn him around and he'll perform this year and stay out of trouble. If I was Murray, I would something to the effect of "you are one more incident away from being the next Zach Kassian".

In my opinion I think Kane stays for the season, maybe he'll be traded at the deadline. Murray will attempt to move him but his value is difficult to quantify and he can't make the deal.

moulson's about as immovable as they come (modified ntc, $5m cap-hit) and kane would be second hardest to move after Moulson...moving gorges or Franson creates a hole on defense that can't easily be filled by a younger player or a borderline nhl veteran d-man...

people want to get rid of kane and go after nash, and I get that...but kane scored 20 goals despite recovering from surgery and his turbulent off-ice antics, however they're viewed...nash is on the wrong side of 30 with a $7.8m cap-hit...he scored 15 goals in 60 games...steep price for that kind of production no matter how much of a choir boy he may be compared to kane

agreed...imo, regardless of how we or the sabres view his off-ice antics, moving him would leave a big hole in the top-six...plus the return at this point would amount to pennies on the dollar...

He was good for portions of the year, but he also played some of the most minutes of any NHL forward and only produced 35 points.

Nash out produces him by a lot per 60 min on average.

If they are moving him it probably has little to do with his production and a lot to do with not wanting him around the locker room IMO

imo, players like Eichel, reinhart, risto and McCabe are mature to the point where they can and will tune him out...players like bogo, o'reilly, gorges and Gionta probably take him for what he is, just like okposo will probably do...

I believe he's more of a pr headache for management than anything else

This is probably true, but his history suggests that he can turn a locker room against him.

I honestly want him here. It's just frustrating hearing about this dude in the news. It's not like he's this polarizing 40 goal superstar. He's a 20 goal 2nd-3rd liner. Just play
