First.
Gaining steam with desperate Minny fans but no one else.
Edmonton wants nothing to do with Minny's bottom pairing defensmen or depth guys. Literally no credible source is giving this any time. |

As much as I like Zucker, he's not exactly an upgrade on any potential top-9 forward aside from Yak. Can't see Nuge going out without a C coming back lest we have to suffer through another year of Letestu at 3C.
Something along the lines of Dumba and Haula for Nuge(+) might make some sense. Seperately how much would Zucker cost to acquire on his own? |
|
|
|
Now this is starting to make sense, but enough with the nuge talk, he isn't going anywhere. Foolish to think he will get traded this offseason. |

IF the Oil are interested in trading Nuge or a package of forwards and picks - Ducks make better trade partner than Wild - esp D for Forwards -
And since they have already done a recent deal .. Maroon - a deal like that def. could help out both sides - |

The idea that Edmonton will trade away RNH for a defenseman like Dumba; when they could only protect 2 of Klefbom, Larsson, or Dumba in the expansion draft in 11 months, seems suspect at best. |

And only a month or two ago if someone mentioned Hall for Larson the board would be full of "the idea of such a ludicrous trade seems suspect at best"....so...you never know! |

Unless somethings changed, they can still go the 8 skaters route. Protect Lucic, Eberle, Draisaitl, Nuge, Klefbom, Sekera, Larsson, and the acquisition while McDavid and Nurse are auto-protected. Then the only guys that are threats to be taken are Pouliot, Yak, Davidson, or Reinhart (no one substantial). |

It doesn't work cap-wise. At this point, if they traded Dumba and Zucker for RNH and Pouliot, the Wild would be taking on an extra $8 million in cap dollars, which they don't have. |

Its not gaining steam. More made up BS by a couple idiot bloggers. Come on dude. The hockey press? That's like calling Ek a legit hockey insider - Iggysbff
Yeah but "The Hockey Press" made their logo font look just like "The Hockey News", so that has to mean that it's totes legit |

This trade looks ridic. But if it happens and Vegas takes Reinhart in expansion, they will have wasted 2 first overall picks and an additional first rounder. All to get a pair of good, but not stud, d-men. |

1. The value isn't even close from the Oilers perspective.
2. This puts the Wild well over the cap.

At first glance, this seems ridiculous. I mean, Matt Dumba is a third-pairing guy. He's closer to being an AHLer than he is to a top-pairing d-man
Buuuut, Chiarelli did just swap Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson. So I suppose anything is possible.... |

I thought Dumba was supposed to the Wild's next big thing... Did he have potential that didn't pan out or am I just mistaken? |

Why on earth would the Wild want back BP? He was the 2nd highest pick in Wild history behind Gaborik, and he completely choked in the system! Not to mention made an ass out of himself and received 2 DUI's. No thanks |

They may want him back for reasons that aren't utterly irrelevant, but who knows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

Rumors that went around after he left was he wasn't a good guy to have in the locker room and embarrassed his teammates, is that irrelevant? |

Spurgeon is actually pretty good. I would love it if he were an Oiler. |

I like him too but I don't see him as a top pairing d-man without Suter. He's 5 years older likely in his prime, and puts up similar points to Dumba. |

It would have to be something like Dumba, Granlund and a pick for RNH only. The other pieces just dont fit... |
