I did, it looks incredibly stupid. It looks like it'd make a great Adult Swim show that's on for 15 minutes, but I don't know how they make a feature film out of it.

Gah!, what the (frank) is that thing?

I like how the crab's like "(frank) that! I'm outta here!". I'd call bullpoop on the video if scientists actually knew anything about the ocean, but they don't so who the hell knows what it is?

I saw whatever one you linked the other day. There was definitely cursing. So I'm guessing it was. I just don't think there's a feature length film there. I think it could be funny, but I just don't see how they can stretch it that far.

So it's hearsay from the bouncer about the harassment. He got a text from the DJ. Ok, whatever. Nothing there. Yet. No new info. Way to go channel 7. "Breaking News" my ass. "This just in!! Nothing new to report!!"

Edit: I'm not defending him. There's just nothing there. The bar's owner said he was never asked to leave. Maybe Kane has some good dirt on him? Who knows? What's his angle to sweep it under the rug? Does Kane really bring him that much business? Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever know what actually happened, much like Patrick last year. Unless someone releases the video, because it's all contradictory at this point.

Sign Risto ASAP for 5-5.5ish per season
Trade Franson for whatever, just get rid of the Cap hit
Sign a guy or 2 like Seidenberg on the cheap to round out our defense, 1 year deals
Offer sheet Kucherov
Hopefully Tampa can't match
And also, it convinces Vesey to sign
Move Reinhart to 3c to create a 3rd scoring line

Re-evaluate & address defense in offseason
Along w possibly trading Kane
And hopefully we don't need to address goalie

There's no money for that. We have $8.1M something in cap space. Ok, so McCormick's will come off, or at least we could go over by his $1.5M So we're at $9.6M something. Our cap space without the LTIR of McCormick is $8,150,476, but $8.5 works for the purposes of this piece.

Signing Risto I thought would be announced on 7/1 or would take a while, like mid August or September, a while. There's really no rush, Risto and his agent just want to see what other guys are signing for to use as comps. Let's say he signs for 4 for $5M. Takes him right to UFA. I don't think his first year, only 34 games, counts. But Grigorenko played 25, and they sent him back to junior because they didn't want the year to count toward UFA. I'm too tired right now to go sifting through the CBA. Either way it's not a huge difference. He signs for $5M to get to UFA.

$4.6M left

Get Rid of Franson for picks/prospects I'm assuming? No way we could take any contract back. So wipe out another $3.325M.

$7.925M left

Seidenberg will cost around $1.75M - $2M. He's not going to be *that cheap. If you want guys like Eric Gryba ok, I guess, I'd rather have Weber back at that price. Bartkowski is an interesting name. It took him at least 121 games to score his first NHL goal. Had a good year last year, for him anyway. And probably will cost about $1.75M. If you want to go bargain shopping then Colaiacovo is still out there. And will be cheap. Probably just a repeat of last years $900K.

Ok so call it $2.5M on defense. But you actually have to add some money back because you'd be taking Nelson off and putting him in Rochester. So you'd have to add another maybe $200K.

$5.225M left

Don't forget Girgensons has to sign. I'm guessing a 1 or 2 year deal for $1.75M per.

$3.475M left

The only offersheet Tampa can't match is something stupid like $7M and up. And since we only have $3.5M left in cap space in this scenario, that just doesn't get it done. We would have to move at least $3.5M in celery(net loss) just to get back to 0. Oh, and then add Vesey's $925K in and there's another million bucks you have to disappear. And I think I was being generous on those numbers. I think Risto signs for more, and probably Girgensons as well.

I would love to do that stuff, but we just plain don't have the money to do it. And to be able to pay our guys in 2 years, and hopefully Lehner after this year. A lot of these guys would have to take 1, 2 year deals at the most, and guys don't like doing that if they can avoid it.

ugh, bed.

I say trade a 1st and 2nd for Kucherov and Nesterov. Tampa is at their max for contracts.

A few morning thoughts/predictions

Vesey will sign on August 16 with the Bahston Bruins.

Nash goes to St. Louis in a trade for Shattenkirk.

We don't move Kane for now.

We sign one more d man for depth.

Final tally- we don't get Nash or Vesey. Nylander will get every opportunity to make the roster and don't be surprised if there's a spot for him.

I'd be mildly surprised if St. Louis moved Shattenkirk for Nash. The other day they said they would take a step back this year and trading for an aging Nash does them no favors if they are hoping to challenge again in a year or two.

I can't imagine Nylander making the team out of camp. It sounds like his overall game needs some work.

Shattenkirk to NYR seems to be the hot rumor atm and nothing would surprise me with the Rags, they could pull that off, especially if they retain some of Nash's salary.

Murray spoke very highly about Nylander getting a good shot at making the roster.

Remember the beginning of the off-season where people were talking about offer sheets and how they'll finally be done this year?

Those were good times. Offer sheets don't happen. They just don't.
