I think Bo is already better than Sutter, offensively anyways, which makes him IMO a better second line center. - LeftCoaster
Bo is close. It's going to be real interesting to compare their numbers at the end of the season if both remain healthy. I chatted with Sutter here yesterday at the pro camps at my Arena and he is pretty pumped about having Loui and Gudbranson on board. |

Either way you have a C for lines 2/3 so it doesn't matter who is The 2 and 3 ...sutter does have a lot to prove this year tho |

Boeser will be here next year so one less piece of poop to worry about - VANTEL
With Boeser coming next season would dealing Hansen at the Deadline not make perfect sense? You figure his value would be sky high then. It leaves you with Erickson, Boeser, Rodin and JV all able to play the right side next season.
Would be a great way to max out on an asset. Something we havent been doing. |

Depending on where we are in the standings, a draft day deal is more likely. Also if Boeser decides to do a 3rd year at UND, then what? 2.5mil won't get a solid UFA. |

I say Sutter gets all the tough defensive assignments this year which should free Horvat up with some easier match ups. That should help his offensive numbers. |

I think Hansens value is as high as it will get right now ...with the addition of loui his numbers will slide not getting first crack with the twins
The thing is you don't know what you have in JV or Rodin and Boeser hasn't played a game of pro hockey yet

I think so too. As a 20 year old Bo was asked to be the shut down center and still produce. Put sutter in the shut down role so that Bo can focus on the offense. Put him with Sven and anyone one of Rodin, Hansen or Erikson and I think his numbers will really trend up |

What do you think Tatar costs ?
I could see Detroit moving a lesser piece(s) to accommodate cap issues - Redmile247
Honestly I don't know, but I would have to imagine the value is/will be lowering due to their cap situation and the expansion draft. I think a package for Tatar could work but it would have to include a 2nd rounder for sure plus maybe Sbisa(do they need D?) and maybe a mid tier prospect.
EDIT: scratch Sbisa from that deal, they wouldn't want his cap hit. |

I agree with this ... Give bo the easier match ups ...let him develop further |

Sbisa is just another player they won't protect ...this year will go a long way to see who they protect ..they are in a bind I agree, but if a couple of the kids struggle than it becomes a bit easier ...funny to see Detroit hurt by developing players properly |

This season will be Bo's breakout year. Sutter just has to stay healthy for an entire season. |

Obviously it will be Sbisa, Burrows and if they twist our arm we will toss in Biega |

I do question whether the price would be higher on Tatar or Abdelkader, I would go for whichever is cheaper. |

Bo and Hutton....obviously Hutton came out of no where but he was a great pick. I was never high on Shink. - CanuckDon
Fair enough and in retrospect, I would probably agree but I doubt many here even knew Hutton's name when Benning took over.
The cupboards certainly look better at this point.

i agree and if this becomes true, it portends well for another issue..... coaching/ice time decisions |

Price for Tatar would be significantly higher, he's 4 years younger than Abdelkader with a 29G/56P season under his belt, while Abdelkader has produced nearly the same career totals despite being having nearly 200 more games played and has a pretty bad cap hit of 4.25 over the next 7 years |

As they should. We were a legit contender for most of Gillis's tenure. I have no issue with going for it, which we did. In retrospect, most of the moves look bad but at the time of the deals people were on board with trading for Booth, Ballard, etc. |

If they take the Higgins cap hit, I would consider changing Biega to a younger prospect like Cederholm or McEneny. But thats my max offer, the rest are too valuable for someone like Tatar |

I think they might not be in as much of a bind if as vanek will be gone and if franzen doesn't do something more than sit in the press box injured he won't be protected either |

Very true on both points. Sutters' injury was fluke last year but h has to come through this season. |

Agreed, they went for it and came up a little short. Had they won, the tune would be a little different. I liked those trades at the time given the team's goal, they just didnt quite work out |
