some people can change, but most don't. Who would you rather right now, Kane or Lupul? I see Kane as an upgrade. I don't like him as a person, but if he puts up points and pisses off the opponent you know we're gonna look past his past. - Tanooki
Kane would not work in Toronto.
It would be a nightmare.
I just don't see how he fits into the TITS plan. |

Fellas,
Can't we all just get along and discuss this over in the Neilson blog? |

Kane has played top line mins last 3 yrs and hasn't really been much of an upgrade over lupul.
Steer clear. - burn
The one thing about kane is his buyout isn't bad at all next year. A lot better than lupul's.
But, i figure benning will send burrows plus picks/prospects to Buffalo for him. |

Kane is probably a huge douche, but holding a stack to his ear is probably the least troublesome thing about him. If Kane came into the league under a solid organization he wouldnt have been seen as a problem. But he happened to be drafted by a dumpster fire club with Kovalchuk as the leader. TBH, i wouldnt be pissed if the Leafs go after him, as long as they think they can manage his image. He's got a lot of skill and grit, we could always use more of that. - Tanooki
When has Kovalchuk ever been involved in anything "distasteful?" |

For what it's worth, Kane is still young and could mature and change, it's happened to plenty of players before (Ex: Ribeiro... until he had more problems down the road, Hell even Price was way more of a party boy in his first few years but look at him now, couldn't find a more profesionnal guy).
Let's hope for his sake that he gains that maturity before his career takes a very, very bad turn. |

If Kane was half as talented as Ribeiro it wouldn't be a problem.
This is him "CLEAN!" and "Mature." |

With Bergeron as his centerman, the crafty 5-foot-9 winger has worked his way from habitual line-stepper agitator to elite NHL goal scorer. - Ty Anderson Ty made my morning linking this in his blog |

I find the 'elite goal scorer' part of that post funnier.
He breaks 30 once in his career and he's suddenly elite Ty must have penciled Jason Blake in for the Hall of Fame after his 40 goal campaign. |

only problem is JVR is 27 - it would be a good move to extend him now. Less than half the teams in the NHL have a LW of his caliber. Look at Ottawa - their top LW is MacArthur. - winsix
Also, he will command north of 6 million if he has a good season. Do we want to pay that to him in two years with all the young guns coming? I say trade him now for D |

Yeah, I don't quite get that either
If he does it again this year, then maybe we can talk. |

I have to be honest, Rick James. Sometimes it annoys me that you aren't an unreasonable homer.
It was like talking hockey with the B's fan in the office during that playoff round a few years ago... he was always like "I dunnooooo the Leafs are looking really good, if Reimer steals a couple more they could win this series." It's like he thought the hockey gods would punish him for any hint of arrogance. What fun is that? |

No. Wha'appened? - 1979AD
KC rookie sac bunted down the first base line. He ran a good foot or two inside the first base line outside the lane. Then turned inside first knocking the 1b's mitt off and blocking the throw essentially. Ball went wild and with the two men already on KC scores two runs and the guy ends up with a triple.
They reviewed for over 10 minutes and said there was nothing wrong.
Then the P was drawn in the sky. |
