I'm all for the benefit of the doubt but he's run out of that in his short time here. People not doing the wrong thing don't constantly get accused of violence against women on accident. Even if all of this is just another "misunderstanding," and I use that term loosely, it is still completely unacceptable to keep putting yourself in the sort of situations where such a "misunderstanding" keeps happening.
The juvenile crap he got into in WIN doesn't bother me a bit. Take all the pictures with wads of money and wear a track suit all you want. I couldn't care less. But don't be aggressive towards anyone, much less women. That's not going to be tolerated (I hope).
It was a risk that I was 100% behind but boy has it been a spectacular failure. Oh well, he can go be someone else's problem. |

Kane is defenitely not worth the problem. I would try to reach out to the league to have his expelled and to regain the cap space to invest in a better player with a better attitude and with no criminal charges. Ha! I said it before he was traded to Buffalo! |

it happens...jimmy develano, architect of the red wings juggernaut, made his fair share of bad moves when he first took over as gm back in the 80's |

What can you guys do? Sell low & lose, keep him & he might completely (frank) Murray up (again) & lose.
Very hard situation to be in, but even harder if the NHL sit on their hands & leave it all up to the Sabres.
On another note, after reading about fellow GM's supporting Yzerman over Droiun, I wonder how many calls of support Murray will get when he makes his decision. How many other GM's will make it known they don't want anything to do with Kane of the Evander type??
In the end, Murray knew the risk I suppose - he rolled the dice & for now is handing over his coat - whether he loses his shirt time will tell. |

Murray pulled off the trade and it hasn't worked exactly as he planned...so be it...until kane is moved or his contract is up, the book isn't closed...that said, kane isn't doing the man who put so much faith in him any favors
btw...very cool having you chime in from Australia |

Once you put your hands on a female in a derogatory manor, that's it - game over. Evander only cares about Evander. Until that changes (which I highly doubt it ever will) then he will continue down this path.
Even though he didn't physical harm these women, nor did he intend to, it's how he went about it. The women said that every time she sees him, he pulls her by the hair and puts his hards around her throat. Even though it's meant to be "friendly" and I use that loosely, it's still a tell-tell sign of the type of character Kane is.
How you treat a woman is very telling just what type of person you are as far as I'm concerned. He simply has no or little respect for women. And I think that carries over into the other important aspects of his character.
Even if these in incidents "go away" and there is no conviction of these charges, he has no place here in Buffalo. TM has to bite the bullet and swallow his pride and sell for pennies on the dollar. In fact, although losing a talent like Kane will hurt on the ice, I personally will commend Murray for getting rid of him, and sending a message to the Sabres and the rest of the NHL that no player -- no matter where he was drafted or how many assets given to acquire -- is bigger than the team/games! |

Yes, Kane just seems to be that top notch appreciative type of guy......
Wondering if they'll throw him into some type of rehab? (Is there an arseholes anonymous over there? ) |

i think if charges are filed there is probably a clause in his contract to have it voided.. I would guess most contracts have that verbiage.. but i don't know if its in there |

he's not the first and won't be the last...misogyny, stupidity, and ego-maniacal bar room incidents fueled by alcohol and testosterone are part of the nightlife scene and those who lives play out in public always have a target on their back and are scrutinized the most...it's all a part of fame and fortune...
I've seen plenty of nobody's do stupid stuff like that and simply get the heave-ho only to see them back in the same place soon thereafter |

tis the truth... but at the same time it needs to be shown to everyone (if this happened like stated) that it is not ok |

"t's hard to believe any team would be interested in trading for Kane at this juncture unless it was at a steep discount to his talent which puts Murray in a tough spot. At the time of the incident Murray was ready to wait until figuring out what the next step would be."
Michael - did you hear the comments by the Vancouver owner, Gm and Linden yesterday - they seem highly interested. They prob think having him in his home town would help him - good luck with that!! |

I understand that, & we have the exact same issues over here with our sporting stars who can be absolute Boof heads. Unfortunately these sportspeople aren't like the Joe Blows & Neville Nobody's, they are very high profile well paid stars that have a responsibility to their employers. I don't think he should lose his ability to earn a living, just be paid less due to the stupid things he does. Hit them where it hurts & they might smarten up.
Id still love to see what other GM's are saying after a few came out criticising what Drouin did (as I said before). |

just depends on how the contract is written i would assume.. but at the same time as much as they gave up for him, i would think they would at least try to trade him for something first |

Any thoughts on what Kane's trade value might be today?
Kane is just another mistake by Murray IMO. |
