I don't recall the last time a college FA held up this much around the league. Schultz had a number of teams after him but I don't remember those sweepstakes slowing things down.

Kane should be traded to Montreal.

You could probably get Pachioretty for him.

And MTL has a great history with off-ice issues.

Just look what they did for the careers of Zack Kassian and the Kostitsyn bros.

Seems like both trades and ufa signings are in a holding pattern because of this kid, which is crazy. Teams still have plenty of cap space to do things.

Not a bad idea but my guess is Kane gets traded back to the western conference. I doubt we do any significant type of trade with the Habs.

Honestly though, the consensus around the league on Risto is different than what we think of him. Very few people think he's a true #1

I think the best we could hope for in a trade for Kane is a cap dump and a pick or a prospect. I'm looking at you Vancouver.

Id just bridge him. He's spent his entire nhl career on a subpar team. Lets see if he can get better as the team gets better.

I'm not saying he is. He's not. But all these contracts signed. Especially the Dekeyser deal. I get that there aren't a ton of comps because of age, but there are of skill and Risto is elite offensively already, and if Dekeyser is worth $5M for less than half the points of Risto Risto has to be worth at least that if not significantly more. It all comes down to term as Murray said earlier in the offseason. If it's a bridge I see him getting like $4.5 for a few years, but that's stupid because if he continues to get better you're taking money away from Sam and Jack when they're due.

Unless they're really at an impasse it makes no sense to give Risto a one year deal. Kind of like the franchise tag in football. Stone got one year because it takes him to UFA. To save the most money they have to do long term on Risto. I think a bridge is dangerous. Look at Subban, not saying that's going to be Risto, but Subban could've been had for $6M something, but they kicked the can down the road and ended up having to fork over $9M.

That contract is asinine IMO. DeKeyser is ok. 5 mil though?? I thought he'd get 3 to 3.5

Is anybody else puzzled by the Calle Jarnkrok deal? He's only 25 and had a good season. Why would he sign a 6 year deal worth "only" $12M?

There isn't much the DA can get out of this. The absolute MAX penalty if found guilty is 15 days. Which no judge would sentence for a first offense, let alone one that is known to be lenient.

Max penalty for third degree criminal trespass (the lightest charge) is 90 days.

Cops already have it.

The only way we'll see it is if there's a trial. Maybe after if the owner releases it.

Well, im not saying WE have to see it, but once presented in court, it's either going to clear him or convict him.

Not sure why multiple people would make up a story if they knew there were cameras.
