Am told when Vesey make official sign to Buffalo, Evander Kane and Josh Gorges will be trade to Vancouver for first round pick.
Harkki @scanadusa 23h23 hours ago
Am told Buffalo might be take non roster contract (Higgins? my addition) in deal as well, for buyout purpose- then trade round 1 pick for defenseman Fowler
- Retinalz
Let me get this straight as it is a nightmare to read.
1) Buffalo gets our first (which has a greater chance of being lottery pick than not)
2) We get the head case & and ANOTHER D-man in Georges
3) Buffalo trades pick for Fowler.
If this happened Benning should be lynched. Buffalo gets fowler for kane and georges |

I'd be choked if we gave up a first for Kane. |

Gorges plays a tough game . And Kane is Kane. I know more than half here think we will finish bottom 5 but I think we will draft 15-20 |

That, or keep it. I'm hopeful for next season, but not nearly enough to trade that pick. |

Are you sure enough to bet a potential lottery pick? I'm not saying don't make that bet, but not on Kane. |

Something like that
It's really a misnomer that I'm choked all the time, I'm not. If you look at Bennings trade history I'm not a fan of some of them but to say all of them is false. |

I don't believe that for a minute, rebuilding teams don't trade their first round picks. - LeftCoaster
I believe it's possible for sure. The team is supposed to be rebuilding but trading a 1st round pick for a 24 year old isn't that bad. It is only Evander Kane but it's probably the only thing they have ever to try and bring someone in for top 6 help.
I'd be a bit disappointed but I I don't believe this guy could possibly have all the details correct either. Even if it's true which its more than likely not. It'll be pivotal on what happens with Vesey. |

Let the courts deal with Kane's off ice issue.
I would feel better with Kane as a 2 LH over Sven. I would feel much better with Sven at 3 LF
I also feel better with Gorges as the third pair over Sbisa. My own personal feeling is we would have a much more competitive team. I have no problem with moving a 15-20 overall for a tougher D and a reliable top 6 .
It is a gamble but very high reward very high risk. I am sure Benning and Linden have done their homework if there is any truth.

Gorges in my opinion is head and shoulders above Sbisa and would bring leadership and toughness.
Kane would be a huge upgrade and we still have Sven. |

There has to be another piece to make the salary fit though if that is even remotely possible. |

Until I see something from someone in the know like McKenzie or even Dreger, it's fake. That's pretty specific what was put out there and I can't see Murray or Benning wanting info like that out in public especially when the paperwork hasn't been sent to the league office.
It makes me suspect whoever @scandusa is, is either talking out of his ass to drum up more follows or else it's a troll that hacked the account. I agree, unless we're sending Sbisa or similiar dollars back, we can't fit both Georges and Kane and still be no more than 10% over the cap. We'd still have to trade Burrows then to make it work. |

Every trade has risk, obviously, but this would have two major ones:
1) that the first round pick isn't a lottery pick, or even in the top ten
2) that Kane can sort out his shlt
To much risk. Kane should be at a discount, and a first round pick is not a discount.

Acquiring Kane makes the team better but it in no way would give them a shot at a Cup so it'd be a stupid move IMO. Giving up a first for him I mean. |

I understand the worry but I don't see a roster that has very few holes if Gorges and Kane come here. Anything can happen but it would be a solid top 9 and still waiting for Boeser to come up next year.
I have heard Linden say they expect Lockwood to be a third line Hansen type player.
Like I said the other night this is not a sexy roster on paper, but none of know what exactly they have right now. |
