Would Tanev/Hansen be enough to get Landeskog here? Might need to add a 2nd? Or do we have a 2nd to trade…lol

They would take that and shop it for more.

Yeah, Hillary will just turn over all of the USA's intelligence data over cuz her email server will be sitting in someone's bathtub...

Hillary is trouble. She wants to get the American war machine back pounding and will do pretty much anything to make it happen. Trump is a figurehead. I hope people don't think they would honestly let that clown make any real-world presidential decisions. He's got the 'financial' vote and that's about it. Trump doesn't have the minority vote or the gay vote or most of the religious vote. He's done. The polls will be rigged anyway for the first female President in history then look out.

Not even close. Not sure what world you live in.

It's called reality dude. A term that most Leafs fans can't get under the current guise of your ongoing 50 year rebuild.

To honest I think they are both very poor choices for leaders. I feel bad for the US with this ongoing comedy show down there. At least SNL will have great material for the next ten years lol.

Yes back to stick n' rink…

Which one of you is Botchford?

The rest of you need to pick it up in here because his last couple of Hockeybuzz-sourced articles have been kinda lame.

Yup. Like I said I am not giving Kane a free pass but that list is long. He is not the first wont be the last. I am not here to judge him as a person but only too comment on his hockey.

Probably b/c there is nothing going on. Botchford surmises deals like we do here. He's more of a troll than insider.

I really do hope that Kane Gorges article has some inside info. Shore up the forwards and the D

I'm not sure if I'm a big fan of Gorges. He's never really been that mobile or a great skater. He has been pretty good defensively and is a good shot-blocker but I think he's definitely on the down side of his career

A few months back before the draft & the Gudbranson trade I suggested a package deal with Columbus involving Hartnell and David Savard plus a swap of firsts. The Blue Jackets needed cap space to re-sign Jones who had made Savard a bit redundant. Plus they have some prospects in the pipeline who could replace him.

The swap of firsts is obviously no longer viable, but the Canucks need for a scoring winger with size and grit plus an upgrade of offensive production from their blueline still exists, as does Columbus' need to get a better handle on their cap management.

Trading for Hartnell and Savard would fill the Canucks' hole at second line LW and give them another top 4 RHD. That would make Tanev redundant so he could be moved for another piece that upgrades somewhere else.

Gudbranson and Savard are probably both better at generating offense than Tanev is and if he could used as part of a separate package to help acquire Barrie, then you've made a big step toward improving offense from the point.

I'd rather they did this than Kane and Gorges.

He's definitely slowed down some. He has a cap hit of $3.9 for 2 more seasons. Ideally we hope to get another d man this summer and push Gorges down the depth chart. I think he's a reliable 5-6 dman on most teams, still somewhat serviceable.

Great suggestions however I'd keep in mind that EG'S best offensive season to date is like 9 points lol.

good morning my friend.

you're right. adding gorges to a potential kane deal entails taking on 9m in cap space. in order to do this, the canucks would likely have to include most of their dead wieight in the deal. kane's value may have dropped some but let's not kid ourselves, it has not diminished that much... and if it has, murray would be best served by letting kane play his way out of this mess in buffalo.

And a good morning to you RC as well.

I agree, it's probably best to let Kane start the season in Buffalo. If for some reason we land Vesey (I think he goes to Boston) then moving Kane would be easier and probably expect a pick and a prospect for him. We would have to take salary back for Gorges and Kane and I don't see Murray having any interest in Sbisa, Burrows, etc. Murray wants a young team built for the future.
