Wouldn't call that a fire sale. They received a huge prospect haul for those guys.

If Trading Chapman, Miller, Beltran, and Nova isn't a fire sale, I don't know what is. They traded anyone that had some value and received a kings ransom in prospects (except maybe Nova). The only other player that may have gotten them some assets is McCann, but it seems they didn't like what was offered for him.
It's not something I'm used to seeing, the Yankees being sellers at the deadline; but it was necessary. That team wasn't a playoff team.
