I do agree that the Flames are close. It will be interesting to see if Treliving can give Gulutzan what he needs to succeed there. We saw last year what just relying on Monahan and Gudreau will do…but in their defence they have not had a decent goalie since Kipper. Elliott to me is still kind of a backup so it was also be interesting to see how he does with 60+ starts. Didn't they let Colborne and Jooris walk as well? These are the types of guys they need to keep in the lineup but I get the fact they had contracts to sign. Treliving seems pretty sharp I think he will figure something out there. - LordHumungous
I think Elliott will be alright for the flames but it will be interesting to see. I really like what their top end forwards are starting to look like with Monahan Gaudreau Bennett and Tkatchuk moving forward. Very young and skilled. They're D is very good too.. Gio Brodie Hamilton are all very good with some nice prospects in there too.. can't stand most of their fans tho

Botchford was just on 1040 saying Sbisa should be the #7 dman so he's advocating trading Sbisa for Hartnell because they both have poopty contracts.
Gives Benning the tough scoring winger he wants. - LeftCoaster
Why is Hartnells contract so poopty ? He still puts up numbers ...52, 60, 49 points the last 3 years at 4.75 is kinda decent isn't it ?
I think everyone just hates on him because they want their team to get him at some bottom barrel price ( flames fans included ) |

There really isn't much wrong with the contract. Hartnell is a solid 50+ point guy and 4.75 over the next three years would be fine. |

I believe they wanted colborne to play more like a Brouwer type and he just doesn't ..seemed expendable as most of his points were after the flames were done ( not mathematically but logically), having dougie in year two with the flames will help out and I'm going for over 50 points from him, Elliott is the key tho ...everyone questions if he can play 60+ games and say he isn't playing behind the blues D anymore but the thing is he doesn't have to play at the same level to be an upgrade for the flames from last year ...just be better than last years flames goalies.... Everything else is a bonus |

I Guess the no move clause is part of the problem with having to protect him but I see nothing wrong with it beyond that |

Yes Bennett looks to be a winner. 18 goals last year probably looking at 25 this season.
I did watch Tkachuk here closely at Mem.Cup. in Red Deer and there was some concern around his skating by the scouts here. It's not NHL quality skating just yet but I'm sure he is working hard at it on the offseason.
It's tough being a Canuck fan here in Alberta sandwiched between EDM and CAL. But it can be super fun as well. |

that trade has been suggested on here a few times.
I'm not sure if CBJ really needs a dman.
It would be a win for JB. so it won't happen.
When Sbisa is bottom pairing on our club, is the market for dmen that good that Sbisa would land us a 50 point winger? |

Ya…I don't recall anything, outside of drafting, Benning has done well, he's such a turd |

On all Sportsnet Channels too…Pacific, West, Ontario & East. You can see it for the next 8 hours on all these channels if you happen to miss one episode. (frank) I hate the Jays now due to our SUPPOSED national sports networks shoving them down our throats. |
