I attended college (briefly ) close to the New York state border. Knew a few Sabre fans and rooted for guys like Mogilny and LaFontaine. Obviously glad it's the Flyers but I can think of far worse names other than Sabres. |

2005: The Flyers make major news as they sign unrestricted free agent center Peter Forsberg to a two-year, $11.5 million contract.
So that was a $5.75m cap hit under a $39m cap.
Which works out to $10.76m under a $73m cap. More than the highest current cap hit of $10.5m belonging to Kane & Toews. |

I agree.... just weird to think of the Philly team being anything other than the Flyers and the Buffalo team, consequently, being anything other than the Sabres.
The article going online at the Flyers' site later today has a list of other names considered and rejected before Phyllis Snider (Ed's sister) suggested Flyers. (Shameless plug ). |

As for tough guys the whole 70's era should be there. Way too many to pick just 3.
I'll add in Tocchet and our very own GM to the list. Of course I could just make it easy and vote for AMAC 3 times. |

Not sure Liberty Bells rolls off the tounge. Some of those entries were interesting. Scars and Stripes. Croaking Crickets. |

Personally, I would vote strategically to include as many as possible.... the Hammer is going to be in the top 3 for sure but he's already living in this area as his permanent home and would be there regardless. I'd vote for guys who aren't around as often because they live elsewhere and who otherwise may not be part of a Heritage Night.
Example: Obviously, Homer will be there, and deserves to be even apart from his post-playing career. There will be a captain's night later in the season, so Mel Bridgman will be honored this season.

Just curious. Right now, not a year from now or ten years from now, right now do you fellas view Ghost as anything more than a third pair offensive defensemam on this team? Based on last season, I was only impressed by his speed and his offense. Right now there is no questioning his workethic but right now expect Provorov to be a more balanced player right away. I also don't expect Ghost to be used in tough defensive situations ahead of anyone we already have including Brandon Manning, who I don't even care for.
I'm not saying my views are correct, just expressing how I feel. |

Brown and Schultz to me are almost locks. Behn was my wildcard vote, I loved his game. |

If Sanheim, Provorov and Morin all work out, Ghost will probably be at best #4 and I could see him paired with Morin. Otherwise he's a Third pair and top PP unit guy.

If we're going to label someone a troll because they spelled someone's name incorrectly, are we also going to focus on grammar issues? Such as sentences start with a capital letter, and I is supposed to be upper case. Sentences end with a period, etc. Just curious. |
