On the Blue Jays front: I was wrong about J.A. Happ. I thought they gave him too much money, he is outplaying his contract right now.

As for Italian soccer club AC Milan has an agreement to sell to a chinese corp for 740 million euros. Sad fact is the team sucks. A debt of 220 million euros. Runs at a lose of 100 million euros a season. WTF!

Just wanted to give a big shout out to mAkita for keeping things civil (ish). Tough job in the middle of the summer when nothing worth talking about is going on yet y'all seem to find shyt to talk about for 10 pages!

Also just an idea but maybe leave the political commentary for globe and mail message boards or something? We're sporting people here..if the board can't keep active with hockey talk (aug 5th) let's talk some shyt that is actually interesting in the sporting world ?

Any thoughts on the mess the nba is dealing with? Good on the players association for doing their job and all, but the next couple seasons are gonna be garbage for 26 of the teams. Kids getting paid more to sit on golden gates bench than messi makes per year..damn. And every year free agents can just ditch for highest bidder..
At the same time can't wait to see durrant and curry slay

Exactly, whoever we lose will be immenenly replaceable anyways. Most of the players we need to protect are exempt like Virtanen, Hutton, Baertchi and the rest either have NMCs (like the Sedins, Ericksson) or are part of our core (Bo, Sutter, Hansen). For all those people worried about the decisions on who to protect, we're going to end up exposing the players that were on 2 year show me deals or prospects who we aren't expecting to become big parts of our team in the next few years that we can afford to lose.

Yes, we are in excellent shape compared to other teams. We could lose one of Granlund, Sbisa, Pedan, Gaunce or Etem. Absolutely nothing to worry about

Whatever plays out this season, I just hope we land somewhere in the lottery where we could potentially draft Kristian Vesalainen. This kid looks like a power house.
