what happens if Kane tells Murray he doesn't believe he has a problem? the first step is accepting the problem exists. |

Maybe after they were moved but c'mon that team was going to 30th with or without that trade. And its not like they made that deal with the intention of securing Eichel, they did it because they thought they were getting two young players with nhl experience that still had a lot of upside. I agree it's an understandable gamble but this wasn't Myers+ for Eichel+. They could've just dealt Myers and Stafford separately for nothing but draft picks with the sole intention of getting one of McDavid or Eichel. - Sabresfan-365
You're not entirely wrong, but with the trade it basically sealed it, and it was still too damn close for comfort. And Murray wanted Kane, that was obvious. 2 birds, one stone. |

Right.....
So we "traded"
Strome, Myers, Satfford, etc
For
Eichel, Kane, Bogo, etc - jdfitz77
No we upgraded from Strome to Eichel. Can't use either Strome or Eichel in the equation, especially since Winnipeg didn't get Strome |

Doesn't matter what Winnipeg did or didn't get
Just look at it as what would we have had if we didn't make the trade
Vs
What we have now
And I'm not the one who proposed the equation
I was just saying...
Can't include Eichel on one side while leaving off Strome from the other |

Exactly. It helped secure Eichel or McDavid. And I'll take that over anything else we could've gotten out of that trade. Myers and Stafford were just good enough to maybe keep us in 3rd or 4th. So it really should be Myers, Stafford, Lemieux, 1st for Eichel, Kane, Bogosian, Kasdorf. I do that deal everyday of the week. Even with Kane's pain in the ass bullpoop.
The goal was always Jack or Connor. Everything else was secondary, including value. - Wetbandit1
If you are going to include Eichel as part of the deal, you would need to include Strome or Marner as well as they would have been who we picked |

Or just kept the better D man (Myers), dealt Staff for a 2nd, and used the assets to outbid Columbus for Brandon Saad.... the actual recent 30 goal scorer |

Hey, Patch, if you're looking for any blog ideas, I would love to read your take on some of the lesser known prospects in the system, and what you expect to see this year in the their development. (Stevens, Chukarov, Brown, Locke, Malone, Florentino, Possler) Late rounders who we never really hear about. |

"Lastly, I still have faith that Murray is going to have a "come to Jesus" meeting with E Kane and his agent. This meeting will result in him stop playing the goofball/party role and turn him into a professional athlete."
Yeah, that wacky goofball guy. Imagine . . . there are people out there who think that forcing a woman to be hospitalized for transfusions and surgeries, or grabbing a woman by the throat, choking her and trying to force her into a car . . . people who think those are somehow serious matters. They don't see that it's just a party guy having a little fun. That silly goofy guy! Kane just needs a little talking to, that's all, just a little talking to, because, you know, there are those fuddy-duddies out there who think what he's done is seriously, disgustingly, repulsively, appallingly, wrong. How could anybody be such a kill-joy? |

True but I meant in the context of moving them solely for the purpose of making sure you get to last place. Otherwise yes i agree. |

The other move Murray made was to land right wing Kyle Okposo via free agency. The powerforward had put together three pretty good seasons with the NY Islanders and unlike Moulson who spent five years on Long Island, Okposo made an impact on a line that wasn't centered by John Tavares
so many things wrong with this statement...
okposo is NOT a power forward...he's a finesse forward with a bigger frame that doesn't use it and falls down far more than an nhl player should. Power forward Okposo last made an appearance in 2013 against the pens in the playoffs, haven't seen that guy since.
Okposo may have played the majority of the season on a line without tavares, but he played every pp shift with JT and a large number of his assists were secondary assists...often when he lost control of the puck and someone else would make the pass to the goal scorer.
Okposo's a good top six winger. He's not going to drive play by himself, he frequently overhandles the puck and turns it over, falls down or skates into the corner instead of to the net.
I liked Okposo as a player, but frankly I didn't want the Isles to retain him, I wanted him moved. I felt like he should have taken another step forward after he scored 69 points and he just didn't seem to do it. He's far too frustrating to watch for me. You'll be better having him, but you'll see him use the toe drag move way too often and he'll most often use it and end up in the corner instead of going to the net.

Seriously? We didn't clinch until the 2nd last game of the year. If any number of games go the other way (specifically with Arizona) we're still crying. You can argue about the value of the trade but something similar had to be done to achieve the real goal.

Apparently the police didn't think so because had this happened the charges would be more extreme than harassment...thanks for playing.
As far as the girl suing him here is the link : http://www.foxnews.com/sp...der-kane-injured-her.html
her statements: "unwanted, unconsented to, violent and offensive in nature physical battery," how was he cleared of charges then?

Where are you getting that? I don't disagree with the rest of it, but I never saw anything of the sort for the thing over the winter. If that happened I'd think there would've been charges brought.

I'm sorry but saying that trade got us Eichel is such a cop out to how bad that deal was.
95% of fans were convinced Myers made us and his teammates worse. Stafford was being moved anyways.

1. Agreed
2. Im guessing it will be no different here with Eichel and Reinhart, he may even see less touches
3. This is true of a lot of wingers, luckily they're not expecting him to do that.
Im certain that he will frustrate many sabres fans including myself at times during the year. As long as the good outweighs the bad it should be okay though.

You won’t regret signing him – at least not likely until the final year or two of the deal, and he WILL help your team and is a legit top 6 forward, I just cringe every time I hear someone talk him up as a power forward because aside from the 2013 playoff series with Pittsburgh, he simply doesn’t play like one. |

Becuase it's he said, she said. That's the only reason. And that's incredibly (frank)ed up. If she was that injured there absolutely should've been charges. And I'd guess her medical records would be front and center of her case, "look at what this mother(frank)er did to me", so I doubt she made it up. Then Kane could come back and say, "hey, that's how she wanted it" and it just goes back and froth from there. |

That's not how it works, it would have gone to a grand jury to decide if there was enough to charge him with a crime.
There wasn't evidence that supports this claim at all, and in fact she wasn't the one that even thought about pressing charges, she went to the hospital because she was sore and the nurse who is mandated by law called the police.
The police investigated and cleared him... |

Not that I really want him gone,
But at this point I kind hope we trade Kane just so we can stop talking about him
Had enough
I'd rather talk about Vesey again at this point
