Why do u look at it as "top6" vs "bottom6"
I think having 3 scoring lines, & thus a "top9" is a much better way to go
Remember when we had Briere & Drury,
And then a 3rd line that ppl couldn't match up with?
Guys like Kuhnackle & Sheary weren't "top6" quality,
But they played with Crosby & Malkin and they won the Cup - jdfitz77
I'm just not a fan of Foligno in the top 6. There should be other options. Ennis with Eichel and Reinhart makes more sense to me. And I like Marcus Foligno and thinks he gets a bad rap on this board. |

I see you guys are finally seeing what Tanner is all about. I have been fighting him for a year about my Avs, now he is eating a little crow regarding them.
Hes a leafs fan, has a hard on for McDavid and the Oilers, not a coyotes fan (just forced to blog about them) so he will crap on any one and any team that messes with his narratives with his Teams |

I walked the last 9 holes behind furyk today - unbelievable. Then I left after Bubba passed hole #9; didn't even watch the rest - after furyk, the rest was a let down. He barely missed a putt on 14 and lipped out on 15 or it could have been even lower. I have some cool video I'll upload if someone tells me how to it from this phone camera?? - turbo044
Cool turbo you witnessed history, awesome. He also laid up on the par 5 13th hole which surprised me.
Good stuff. |

he writes on other blogs (Hockey Writers as one of them) as a Leafs blogger. He isn't a smart analytics guy, but he think hes one. Hes like Ryan Wilson (Pens Blogger) who just looks at a Hero chart, sees that it either its a big or small bar and will say how that guy is either good or bad.
He honestly doesnt watch the games. How he said Avs were stupid to trade Tanguay (who couldn't skate and was so bad) for Boedker by just showing me their Hero Charts just show you how bad of a blogger he is.
I told him that no one will sign Tanguay this year, hes done, 38 with 2 bad knees. He said someone will sign him to be on their 3rd line since he is great at 5v5 based on his p60...and look Tangauy isn't even mentioned as a target for anyone.

He just can't have a debate with anyone, if they question his take, he gets so defensive and says you are an idiot bc hes right and youre wrong |

I have the same experience with Henderson, Wilson, JJ and Crozier.
Less said about Garf, Spiegel and Tanner the better.
I think they're all Leafs fans. |

Yeah didn't see him at 13. He was the first golfer I saw on the day - at #9. Put it within about 18 inches and made the putt to shoot a 27 on the front nine. When I saw he also birdied 10 and 11, we went out on the course to find him. No crowd with him at #9, it probably a thousand maybe 2k when we found him at 14. He golfed smart over the last 5, putt on 16 was great - crowd went insane. |

Garth just deletes posts, hes so thin skinned for someone who trolls for a living.
Tanner acts like a child
Spiegel is just an idiot looking for attention
Wilson and JJ are just delusional, but hey if you blog for a team that wins the cup, you can run your mouth somewhat |

So then back to my question...
Why view it as a top6/bottom6?
I'm more interested in finding chemistry among 3 lines that can score
I think we have enough talent to do that if we don't try to jumble our most skilled guys together on the top 2 lines
Play lines 1-3 equally, (or close to it),
And then the best 6 guys get the PP time |

Ok, I had to see what Tanner wrote. He's not wrong. Although I'd say he's a solid 4 at 5 on 5. He's lethal on the PP, but he's average at best at 5 on 5. How many times did he get absolutely toasted for goals last year? Too many to count. He gets caught in no mans land far too often. If he can clean up his own end he'll be a beast, but until then he's a power play specialist/offensive defenseman. I think Tanner was a bit more down on him because he's a Leafs fan, but he's nowhere near a #1 right now. |

I don't think the talent level is there to roll 3 lines. If Moulson and Gionta are getting the same ice time as ROR, Okposo, Eichel and Reinhart you have a problem. And if you move Girgs for Fowler as suggested it depletes the 3rd line even more. I think in a few years you'll be there to roll 3 lines, not now. Moving Foligno into the top 6 doesn't balance out the 3 lines either imo. In fact it hurts more than it helps as I see it.

I bet he'll get a camp invite when someone gets hurt. Just like Bill Guerin did for years after he was done.
