I bet he'll get a camp invite when someone gets hurt. Just like Bill Guerin did for years after he was done. - Wetbandit1
hope its not your team, Tangs...loved him in his prime, but so he has some dignity to end his career, being a PTO and not making a team is the worst way to end a great career. And if he does make a team, he will be healthy scratched, hurt, etc.

Forgot to mention but there was a nice article in the BN a few days ago about Giorgio Estephan. He scored the most goals of any Sabres prospect last year, and he missed a month with an ankle injury. Not bad for a 6th rd pick. With Dan Lambert coaching Rochester this year he'll give Murray some insight into some of the WHL guys.

yup, hes done. Needs to retire and then join the front office somewhere (Not Avs...trying to get rid of the old boys club 1 hire at a time) - DDM-Coga
Some guys hang on too long in their careers, hoping to land that next gig to extend it. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to some of them. Don't take a job from a young player who has earned it.

I never said he'd accept, but someone will be desperate enough to send one out to him.

I honestly thought he was done 3 years ago. - Wetbandit1
he was good the 1st year back with the Avs after the trade, but as soon as he got hurt that year, he really could never get back to the level of play..every injury he was slower and slower. He was done for sure last year but with 1 year left, he wanted to play it out

shane doan is going down that path..had a decent season last year but lets be honest, he doesnt deserve 5m dollars and Top 6 ice time anymore. Bow out with some dignity and step aside, not the face of the franchise
Read the first few lines of Garth's Blog. I'm scared, can someone tell me everything is going to be okay and Jack isn't going to be abducted/turned into a skin coat?
Also a 58 today! That's crazy! And from a guy who's like 74 years old! It's nice to see the old (frank)s getting their due once in a while. - Wetbandit1
46 and Jerry Kelly at 49 and 10 months would have been in a playoff if not for a 12ft putt on 18

I don't think the talent level is there to roll 3 lines. If Moulson and Gionta are getting the same ice time as ROR, Okposo, Eichel and Reinhart you have a problem. And if you move Girgs for Fowler as suggested it depletes the 3rd line even more. I think in a few years you'll be there to roll 3 lines, not now. Moving Foligno into the top 6 doesn't balance out the 3 lines either imo. In fact it hurts more than it helps as I see it. - mhp
Our 6 most talented forwards are:
Eichel, Reinhart, O'Reilly, Kane, Okposo, Ennis
Split them up onto 3 lines
-Eichel-Reinhart
Kane-O'Reilly-
-Ennis- Okposo
Even if Gionta, Moulson, Foligno or whoever were to fill in any of those open slots, they wouldn't get the same minutes as our best 6 guys
They'd get roughly 14min of icetime where the others would get about 20min bc of the added special teams icetime
And if Moulson & Gionta were on the 4th line, then they'd get about 10min

That was a good article. Hoping we can move an entire line up from Rochester in 17-18 to replace some retiring vets/UFA's.
Give some kids with energy who played a year in rochester together a shot at the 3rd line and hope they do some damage.

Bylsma likes his pairs. Never thought of Ennis and Okposo though, that's interesting.
mhp is right in that Foligno isn't a true top 6 guy, but I think we are at least rapidly approaching having the ability to role 3 lines. That really is the point of contention I think.
Top 6/Bottom 6:
Kane RoR Ok
Ennis Eichel Rein
Moulson Girgs Gio
Foligno Larsson Bailey/D-Lo/Fasching
Role 3 lines with pairs and you are forced to take a couple guys from the bottom and displace them. The hope is that the guys at the top can carry the line and the odd one out in turn gets better point totals/has more impact simply by osmosis. I'm on the side of saying that at least RoR can do by his damn self if he needs to and Eichel-Reinhart are gonna get to that point quick.

I agree with MHP that we probably can't roll 3 lines with the talent that we'd like to this year
However...
I do believe that those top6 you have can be split into 3 pairs & still produce
What's more,
I think it will help the production of guys like Moulson, Girgensons, etc
That 3rd line u have will score very few goals IMO...
Maybe 10 each
But what if u split them up?
If Girgensons plays w O'Reilly for example, not only should his goals go up, but also his assists
It may be a pipe dream for Moulson to get back to 20goals...
But if there's ANY chance,
It could be bc Reinhart is feeding him passes a 5th grader can knock in
Either way...
Kids are coming by next year to take roster spots
So this year...
we can either put our best 6 together,
making the bottom 2 lines roughly pointless
Or if we split the 3rd line up,
They'll produce at least a little more
And that should help make a guy like Girgensons better trade bait
And maybe even sway a team to take Moulson off our hands

Congrats to Caeleb Dressel on winning his gold medal tonight.
His Dad was my vet for my previous Shepherd and is a decent man.
Nice to know the family of a gold medal.

That was nice to see. Watching the Olympics the past 3 or 4 times around. The 4 x 100 freestyle relay seems to be the biggest event in US Men's swimming.
Ragland partial ACL tear. My god does it ever get better? - sbroads24
That's tough. Does it need surgery? Sometimes with a mild grade I and sometimes even a II sprain it doesn't. Maybe that's why the second opinion. First guy said yes, he needs surgery. Hoping the second guy said no, he didn't need surgery.

I'm surprised Phelps even reacts anymore. "Oh, another gold. Yawn.". That was a hell of a second 50 he swan though ate up the deficit and took the lead by a good margin.
