You won’t regret signing him – at least not likely until the final year or two of the deal, and he WILL help your team and is a legit top 6 forward, I just cringe every time I hear someone talk him up as a power forward because aside from the 2013 playoff series with Pittsburgh, he simply doesn’t play like one. - Isles_since_6
Makes sense, As wetbandit said it's sorta like the way bogosian is perceived just because he hits a lot. |

I know u haven't liked the trade from day 1
But let's see how Kane & Bogosian do this year - jdfitz77
We have 7 years of samples on them. Only Kane has proven at any point to be a top line/impact player. And that was only for 2 of his 7 seasons.
Unfortunately both players would benefit from a reduced role, in which case, why were they targets? |

Not that I really want him gone,
But at this point I kind hope we trade Kane just so we can stop talking about him
Had enough
I'd rather talk about Vesey again at this point
Hahaha - jdfitz77
Agreed....maybe |

Yea the thing about acquiring "young vets" is that they don't and shouldn't be getting the same kind of leeway that regular young players get. I mean Bogosian had how many 100s of games played when we acquired him? The scouting report on him was unanimously agreed upon by hockey people. Tons of talent, not so much between the ears and that was not really fixable at this point.
Edit: Kane could benefit from a reduced role. Bogo just needs his adjusted such that he sees more offensive time and less defensive. A smaller cap hit wouldn't hurt either but I'll stick with whats actually realistic.
Double Edit: Id still like to see them try Kane on his off wing. |

so many things wrong with this statement...
okposo is NOT a power forward...he's a finesse forward with a bigger frame that doesn't use it and falls down far more than an nhl player should. Power forward Okposo last made an appearance in 2013 against the pens in the playoffs, haven't seen that guy since.
Okposo may have played the majority of the season on a line without tavares, but he played every pp shift with JT and a large number of his assists were secondary assists...often when he lost control of the puck and someone else would make the pass to the goal scorer.
Okposo's a good top six winger. He's not going to drive play by himself, he frequently overhandles the puck and turns it over, falls down or skates into the corner instead of to the net.
I liked Okposo as a player, but frankly I didn't want the Isles to retain him, I wanted him moved. I felt like he should have taken another step forward after he scored 69 points and he just didn't seem to do it. He's far too frustrating to watch for me. You'll be better having him, but you'll see him use the toe drag move way too often and he'll most often use it and end up in the corner instead of going to the net. - Isles_since_6
Then hopefully he loses the puck a lot this year, or maybe he was just doing it on purpose |

Seriously? We didn't clinch until the 2nd last game of the year. If any number of games go the other way (specifically with Arizona) we're still crying. You can argue about the value of the trade but something similar had to be done to achieve the real goal. - Slump Buster
Yeah we could've traded Stafford for a 3rd round pick which we could later trade to talk to some kid for a couple months |

Yea, a good barometer is definitely games played > Age.
Someone like Reinhart would be father along in development at 20 than Vesey with no experience at 23 |

That's not how it works, it would have gone to a grand jury to decide if there was enough to charge him with a crime.
There wasn't evidence that supports this claim at all, and in fact she wasn't the one that even thought about pressing charges, she went to the hospital because she was sore and the nurse who is mandated by law called the police.
The police investigated and cleared him... - Stripes77
Either she did or she didn't have surgery. The medical records of her visit to the hospital would clear it up in about 12 seconds. You also have to realize that the hospital is under absolutely no obligation to release what she had done to her(HIPAA), so she might've been embarrassed and said she was just "sore". Would you say "yeah this woman cut my deal, and I had to have numerous surgeries to fix it" to the general public? Of course not. Now this woman's name is out there on top of it. I'm not sure if that was a mistake, because most times they're just referred to as "Jane Doe".
It's exactly how it works. It only goes to a grand jury if the police go to the DA and say "hey, there's something here." If they don't the DA doesn't do anything about it because a defense lawyer just has to call the cops to the stand as ask them if they recommended charges be brought. So then it's just a DA on a power trip. Ok, this is a bit different because it's in the public eye, but either she had surgery due to whatever happened or she didn't. If she didn't then she's just opening herself up to a countersuit(which has already happened) and judgement against her. It's not smart in the least. And lawyers aren't in the business of losing, so to get a lawyer to press forward with no case and open to defamation/slander countersuit just doesn't make sense.
There are levels upon levels to this thing. It's not simple. |

I think Bogo would be kinda tough to judge from his days on crappy Winnipeg teams
Top pair, nah
2nd pair... ?
If he plays like he did once he got healthy last year I'll be very happy w him on the 2nd pair |

I honestly thought Kane's game came along quite nicely last year. Started off with rust from not having played for a long time coming off of major shoulder surgery, on a new team with necessarily a new coach/system. Kane on his off-wing could be interesting, but most of the bonehead shots that ended up back in his own zone drastically dropped off the last few months. Either way, we need help on the right side. Okposo is the only legit top 6 RW we have. I like Reinhart there, but he seems like the kind of guy who could succeed anywhere.
I think you're right about Bogo. I said it earlier that because he likes to hit people he gets pegged as a shutdown defender when that's never been his game. He's an offensive defenseman. |

I read (red) this
nice blog
the quick Nylander signing makes me think he was plan B for one
Just not sure if it's for Kane or Vesey
Ennis, ROR, Okposo
Nylander, Eichel, Reinhart
does that work? - homiedclown
I think it was just an easy signing, not really reading into it. He's 100% not ready to step into the NHL this year especially in a top 6 role. |

It did and I won't discount that. When Kane is on he's very effective and really fun to watch. I think once they put him on the Eichel Reinhart line those bonehead shots stopped. Although I don't know how much of his production was simply because the schedule got significantly weaker in the final quarter of the season. |

Did you read the quotes from that article?
Her having surgery has absolutely nothing to do with it.
It's her claims now that it was not consensual...that's rape. The DA and cops cleared him.
She can sue him for being rough. That's damages but having rough sex isn't illegal. If she claimed at the time of the investigation that it wasn't consensual then you most certainly would have seen charges brought up against him.
Now she's looking for money and now claiming it wasn't? It doesn't add up. If she wants money for the surgeries that's one thing but that's not illegal.
If we are playing hockey at my house on my property and you get hit in the face and have damage to your eye from a puck I shot you can sue me. Same concept applies here. I didn't do anything illegal but you got hurt. Kane didn't do anything illegal (the police did cleared him) but she got hurt so she has every right to sue. My issue is now she's claiming it wasn't consensual. |

I'd much rather be discussing him not playing as well as I would have liked.
I really want a 25 goal 25-30 assist season from him and be a pain to play against. |
