Figured Tanner would have:
1. OEL
2. Goligoski
3. Demers
4. OEL
5. Goligoski |

Good points. We also are arguing over a set of players who are so close in terms of talent and contributions that it all comes down to personal preference.
I prefer Muzzin because I think he brings a bit more offense and creativity to his game. Perhaps you feel Doughty 'controls' the game better. You watch them more so I'll cede this one to you - but again, it's like trying to say who is better between Mozart and Bach. - James_Tanner
James a little off topic here but,
A few blogs ago you said draisaitl would be lucky to be as good as kadri. I argued that draisaitl (small 1 year sample size) is just as good if not better.
Last year drai had 51 points which kadri has never gotten to and if you look at the HERO charts which I see you use all the time to "prove" players are better than others drai has the better chart. So I ask again what info are you looking at to say kadri is better than drai and drai will be lucky to get as good as kadri? |

you mean homerism like putting toews at 1 and crosby at 2 and saying this about crosby when comparing them? "Doesn't have quite as many skins on the wall as Toews, except for scoring."
Toews:
- 3 Stanley cups
-1 Conn smyth
-1 Selke trophy
-1 Mark messier
Crosby:
-2 Stanley Cups
-2 Art Ross
-2 Hart
-3 Ted Lindsay
-1 Conn Smyth
-1 Rocket Richard
-1 Mark messier reward
oh and if you care about espy best player award (I don't) toews have 1 and crosby has 7

This shouldn't be surprising. I'd put Doughty at #7. Do you know how much difference there is between the second best and the seventh best NHL defenseman? Barely any.
The NHL is made up of the best of the best of the best. And the difference between non-elite players and players who are career AHLers is infinitesimally small.
The difference between Doughty's stats and say OEL's are basically nothing. It comes down to the fact that OEL is my favorite player and Doughty is probably Jay's. - James_Tanner
I tried this exercise with some non-elite Leaf players. Let's say... Komarov, Lupul, Bozak. I do believe these guys are much better than career AHLers. |

Vlasic is viewed as defensive d-man, he will never get wide rang recognition while being really good. |

oh yeah, that must be it. And yet, I don't have Doughty on my team, but would take him without the least bit of a doubt before Karlsson.
Didn't think that would through, did you big guy? - prock
And Peter Chiarelli chose to have Adam Larsson on his team rather than Taylor Hall, what's your point? |

Means Edm needed a good defenceman much more than another scoring winger.

it's prock, his ONLY point is " I HATE THE SENS NO MATTER HOW STUPID IT MAKES ME SOUND "
That's pretty much been his point for the last 5-6 years now, with almost no change. |

Adam Larsson is good. Now taking into account +/- is a flawed stat, but Larsson was a +15 on a team that had team total of -24 goal differential. |

Are you really still on the topic? The Oilers have an adundance of forwards. They got exactly what they needed. |
